Need a recommendation! We need to choose between the Hotel Danieli and the Gritti in Venice? Any advice/or direction would be helpful!

I would choose the Danieli. But to toss a spannier into the mix, might want to check out www.hotellondra.it

I always stay at the Cipriani, but used to stay at the Gritti Palace, although the Danieli is popular. At the Cipriani you can escape the crowd

also check out the campanile palace. it's a short boat ride away from Piazza San Marco (past the Cipriani) but a beautiful setting and an abosultely stunning property with gorgeous rooms, great service and restaurants. I have stayed at the Gritti three times and frankly, find it overrated. However you can't really go wrong with any of these choices.

We spent 4-nights several years ago at the Gritti Palace in a balcony room overlooking the Grand Canal.
I don't think we could afford it today but it was Pure Heaven!!

For a beautiful modern high-design boutique hotel, you might try the Ca Pisani.
