Zuiderdam question

A friend and I plan to cruise the Eastern Carib in Jan on a hospital fund raiser. I have never been on a Holland ship and don't know what deck would be the best for a balcony stateroom - can someone help? :confused: Have not been able to find out if rooms have a 'frig' or safe; really do not understand the dining room set up; lots of questions. I need all the help I can get. Thanks :)

We had suite 5187, Verandah Deck I believe, its a corner aft suite with a huge balcony. If you are looking for a balcony room, either suite or otherwise, if you want a larger balcony, choose the aft balcony cabins, we found them to be spectacular.

I have been told that the Zuiderdam and her vista sisters have small refrigerators in all cabins as opposed to HAL's smaller ships which only have them in cabins Bc and above. All cabins have safes.

There are 4 dining times, 2 early and 2 late, all staggered. ex: 6, 6:15. 8 and 8:15, depending on the itinerary.
Choose early or late and what size table you want, for 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10.

Dress code for the eveing will be in the bulletin delivered to your cabin the night before. The number of formal, informal, and casual nights will be in your cruise documents (ticket book) with a defintion of each type of dress ( in the Know before you Go) pamphlet.

We are just off the Zuiderdam 3/25. We were in a VD catergory #4175. I loved our location (almost at the back) aft and on the starboard side. The balcony on this level are a tiny bit bigger than those above. My favorite part was being the cosest balcony level to the water. In my opinion - the closer the better.

Yes, there is a tiny refrigerator. It is stocked with drinks, if you want to use it for your personal items, just ask to have the drinks removed on your first day.

Yes, there is a small safe in the room.

Lots of hidden storage space like - under the bed, inside the vanity stool, two drawers under the sofa bed, two drawers under the foot of the bed, etc.
