I just made reservations for an evening @ the Pinnacle on the Westerdam for June 11 - and I asked the cs rep if I could be put on a listing for an upgrade - she said I'd have to work through my TA. Unfortunately, we made our reservations through Travelocity - does that mean no such luck of being put on an upgrade list for us?
Thank you!!

On my recent Oosterdam cruise the internet agent I booked with said she put me in for an upgrade, and sure enough I got one. Of course there is no guarantee, but it seems there is such a list. Good luck. Btw, this was my first booking with this particular internet agency/agent. My upgrade, was from an HH obstructed view to a regular oceanview. I loved having the window with no obstruction.

We had a similar upgrade on Rotterdam but we booked under a guaranteed upgrade from a G to an E. They did park us on an HH for a bit but we had the E cabin by the time we got to the ship. That was with Travelocity but again it was a Guaranteed upgrade as advertised.

I've never heard of a "guaranteed upgrade." If you book a cabin on a guarantee basis, that just means that you'll get at least that grade of cabin. Yes, you may get higher ... but you may just as likely be assigned the grade you selected.
Could you direct me to the info on a guaranteed upgrade? Thanks.

Thanks for the info - I think I'll call Travelocity and see what they have to shout -- although, upgrade or not, I KNOW we will have a wonderful cruise!! Countdown continues .... :D

Just the words the TA used Jim. I suspect it was a Guaranteed ocean view. I do know that when we started, we booked a specific G cabin but they wound up putting us in an E cabin. It might have been a 2 category upgrade deal I don't recall the exact words.:D
