How often does Oceania refurbish It's ships and when will the Insignia and Regatta be brought up to the same level as Nautica?

I think the refurbish was done on Regatta and Nautica when Oceania bought the ships from Renn. A lot of $$$$$ went into the upgrades for really new ships. baffles Regatta 2005/Regatta 2007:D

According to Oceania's brochure, Regatta & Insignia were built in 1998, Nautica in 2000.
Again, the brochure says Regatta was refurbished in 2003, Insignia in 2004, and Nautica in 2005.
We were on Regatta in Aug 2004, and ship was in very good condition. my only complaint was that the books in the Library needed updating - most of them were inherited from Renaissance (still with Renaissance imprint), and not current.
Gross generalization, but ships usually go into drydock every two to three years, to have their bottoms scraped, etc; and for any heavy mechanical maintenance. Much of the routine refurbishing is an on-going process, and most ships are not pulled from service, unless major changes are being made.

Hi Druke, Library is much better on all the ships, great books..I have been told one problem is if people have been reading them and dont finish by the end of the cruise..they tear the last pages out..I think that is disgusting!!

We were on the Insignia for a 15-day cruise in January, and Nautica for a 15-day cruise in March. We couldn't detect any significant differences, other than brand and placement of the cabin telephone (not significant, but hey - I had to find something;)). Both ships were in outstanding condition, IMHO.

And we were on the Regatta in February, so that touches all bases.
Nothing wrong with the Regatta when we disembarked...and we found the library to be wonderful, lots of updated magazines for me (I had my own books with me) but my husband found a book he liked - and he left all the pages intact.

Its always sensible to read the last 10 pages in the middle ...............so that if anything happens......you will at least know how it finished.
Just a joke

We were on the March 21 transatlantic and the April 3 Rome to Athens and the library had brand-new hardback books. According to the cruise director more new books were coming on board in Instanbul. Beautiful library.
