Ok, I am looking for info on the 3 day land and 4 day cruise thru DCL. 1st cruise with Disney. Traveling 5 people (3 adults and 2 children right now ages 1, and 14) I want to know if I should wait till the youngest is 4 yrs old to enjoy herself more??? Also anyone done this before?? Pro's Cons???
It seems to be more cost effective to getting 2 inside rooms vs. a room to fit 5 anyone had experience on this??? Any and all info would be great thanks.:D

i am booked in Aug for a LAnd/sea. i booked directly with Disney, which has it's drawbacks. I would book land & sea seperate. i went to WDW when my kids were 4 & 6..they had a good time.. I cannot speak to a 1 yr old, but if you are of the mindset that its your vacation as well as the kids, i am sure the 1 yr old will be fine..just expect some limitations on your time and flexibilty as you would on any trip with a very young child. We have always booked 2 inside cabins, but we decided to splurge a little this trip and get a category 4 room with verandah... you do not spens a lot of time in your room anyway..so 2 insides always worked for us..

I have been working out pricing for a land and sea package and have been surprised at how much cheaper a package is than booking separately.
We did the 3 day land and 4 day sea and this time we think we'll do the opposite. Of course, we are coming from the West Coast and the first day is either eaten up with travel, or you have to fly red-eye, neither a very good choice for us. We really did not feel as though we got nearly enough time at Disney World with only 2 and a half days.
As far as the one year old goes, that is entirely up to you, you know your child better than anyone on an anonymous message board. When our kids were young, they were terrible travelers, so we stuck close to home. Fortunatley, we are close to some nice vacation spots.
I'm a big Disney fan and have had Disneyland annual passes for years. My kids are teens, they don't like to go with us, so my husband and I go by ourselves a lot. From the time our kids were 3 or 4 months old, they had both visited Disneyland for the first time. However, it was fine for us, we're local, we could go home when the kids got cranky and go back in 2 weeks or so. I always feel so bad for the families that you can tell have spent a fortune to go to Disney, only to have a very cranky child within a few short hours. It's a lot for a little one to take in.
So, it all goes back to you and how you would handle it. If one of you is agreeable to going back to the resort at naptime, or make sure the naps are regular onboard the ship, it may work nicely for you. I see too many people, whether in a theme park or just the local mall, trying to force children into staying out in public when what they really need is a nap. Naps in strollers don't count. Think of how stressful travel is for an adult, then think of what it does to a child, who cannot be reasonable about it.
If you have not travelled with the child yet, try just going to a hotel for a day or two, see how they are with it.
Good luck and happy planning!

Two rooms are the best way to go when it comes down to per person per day cost. You'll also have two bathrooms for five, instead of one. One adult, over 18 will have too book with the youngest, and how you sleep together is up to you. Same deck level is a must, possibly 2/3 doors away from each other, is great. Go to Dcl, and talk to them at 1-407-566-7000.
