Hi everyone. I just wanted to say hello and to let you all know that our CruiseCritic group was wonderful and we all had a great time.
This is not an official review. Saber44ca (Jennifer) will be doing this soon for our group. We tapped her for this job because she was keeping a daily journal aboard the ship and we know her review will be able to include much detail that many of us cannot remember.
As everyone has said previously, the ship is beautiful and the crew is outstanding. I posted before that embarkation was orderly and efficient and now I can also say that disembarkation was very good too. All 4 of our bags were waiting for us in one place when we got off the ship. A porter was standing right there to take all of our bags to the curb. My husband went up to the roof to retieve our car and we were out of NYC quickly.
I loved my bed as it was so comfortable. I can truly say it is the best bed I have EVER slept on.
The food and service was great but I think we kind of got tired of the Lido before the end of the cruise as everything started to taste alike.
The average age group was younger than 70's, I believe, and no scooters ran over my feet.
The surprise on this cruise was, of course, the snow that greeted us upon our return to NYC. We had to drive in the snow on the New Jersey Turnpike and the traffic was moving very slowly. WE got a slow start but we were home in Virginia by dusk.
Please look for Jennifer's review soon. For those sailing on The Noordam soon, you are in for a wonderful trip.
