Hi!
We are planning on booking July 24th Boston to Boston cruise on the Maasdam and will either drive or fly to that city.
Can anyone recommend a hotel with shuttle service to the emabarkation point?
Thanks,
Carol Ann

hi,
not sure what price range you're looking for, the two links below have hotels near the pier and airport. Boston has many wonderful hotels..but not sure if you're looking for anything inside the city or just a convient place to sleep one evening before boarding the ship.
Hope this helps! have a great trip.

No shuttle service but for $6 you can get a taxi to the port from the Hyatt Regency Financial Area. It cost us a mere $40 per night from Priceline.com. Hard to believe you can get a $200 plus room for $40 but we sure did and it was real nice. Close to Quincy Market and other area attractions. Hyatt just recently changed this over from a Swiss Hotel and they have remolded all rooms as a result.

There are a alot of googd Hotels in the port and center city area. You could use either as Boton is not vety large. Black Falcone Peir is only 5 minutes from the downtown.
Good luck on a Hotel, that is the week of the Democtratic Convention. Artical in the paper on Sunday, the police say that rush hour traffic could be backed up to Neh Hampshire because of road closings. The area around the peir is on the list of closed roads

If that is the week of the DEMO Conv. that you are coming into Boston I doubt seriously you would find a hotel room within a 100 mile radius. They usually hike the rate to above their regular high rate. That is a major event when it comes to town and most have booked entire hotels well ahead of time. Let us know what you get that week and how much you ended up paying.

The DNC begins on Monday, July 26 but it is obvious that many conventioneers will arrive in Boston from Friday onward. If you need a hotel room just for Saturday, July 24, when you disembark the ship, you may still be able to get one.
Same holds if you are boarding on July 24, you probably can get a room for July 23.
Good luck.
The City of Boston is going to be worse than impossible.

The Seaport Hotel is a very nice hotel that is the closest to the pier. It is at the world trade center and is often overlooked by tourists. Friday nights are often doable as this hotel does cater to the business crowd. It is owned by Fidelity Investments.

Do you known what decent restaurants are in near vicinity to The Seaport Hotel?

Oh boy,
At the Seaport is Aura, which is very nice. Across the street is Anthony's Pier 4, a mainstay in the Boston dining for years, Jimmy's and Jimbo are right down the street and my favorite, not fancy at all, The No Name restaurant. All except for Aura are know for the seafood. The No Name is actually on a fish pier.
Lots to choose from.

Thanks.....Anthony's Pier 4 has indeed been around for ages and always serves at least a decent meal. I've always preferred Jimmy's lobster....JMHO. Anthony's marinated mushrooms are great though and the port wine cheddar cheese with the popovers? Do they still serve that?
I was having trouble placing the hotel but with your response, I know just where you mean.
Thank you.

The Seaport is actually directly across the street from the World Trade Center. In fact there is a bridge that goes over the street from the hotel to the WTC. However, I checked with them tonight and they have no rooms during the time frame that the original posting asked about.
Frankly I think anyone thinking about staying in Boston that weekend better have ther reservations already. <aybe there would be something out side of 128!

You are probably correct, "jayjo". It may be impossible to get any sort of room in Boston for those nights at this late time.
