We're looking at Oceania for a 2007 cruise to the Med. Does anyone here know if the 2 for 1 plus air promotion applies to the penthouse suites? If so, how far in advance should one book to guarantee that accomodation. Thank you so much!

Yes, it applies to the PH categories. Book now since these fill up very quickly!

Concerning the airfare, if you choose to make your own air arrangements, Oceania usually gives their 'cruise only' passengers a substantial air credit and then we like to use our frequent flyer miles to upgrade to business class.
We booked as soon as we decided on an itinerary, so we could get the particular cabin that we wanted. You can always cancel later if your plans should change.

R-Man:

As the owner of a cruise agency, I always suggest booking 2007 voyages now to avoid dissapointment later, particularly with Oceania which is becoming one of the most popular premium/luxury cruise lines in the world. Even if you deposit now on a PH and something better comes up, or if you have to cancel for any reason prior to your final payment, the cruise deposit is fully refundable. At least you know your on the ship and have a better selection of cabins.

In addition, as you get closer in to the sailing, it is always possible that Oceania may offer limited promotions or sales on your specific cruise, depending on how the ship is filling. You never know. If your travel agent has group space on your voyage, depending on they applied the "amenity points" you could also benefit from other perks.

SeaCCruiser also makes a valid point regarding airfare. Many of our clients prefer to take the "air credit" from Oceania because they are using frequent flier miles or obtained air cheaper elsewhere.

My wife and I are escorting a group on the 4/13/06 Regatta Greek Isles voyage and a number of guests decided to do their own air. Either way, Oceania is a a teriffic value!
