I'm sure Oceania has some of their air pax flying on Delta, as am I on FF tickets via Delta/Virgin Airways to meet my Insignia cruise June 26. Has Oceania made backup arrangements for if the pilots stike and put Delta out of business? I'm looking at buying refundable tickets or economy tickets with a $200 penalty to cancel and keep the balance on credit for a year? What is everyone else doing?

We are booked on the Regatta 4/23 & have Delta Song & Delta flights on 4/18. We paid the air deviation fee in order to secure the best flight schedule we could find. Even if we are able to fly out; can we get back??? So far, there's been no word from Oceania; & my travel agent is out of the office until Tuesday. We'll see.....

On April 15 the arbitration board is supposed to rule on whether Delta can void the pilots contract. The pilots say they will strike if it happens. So they could strike as early as April 16 as they have already voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike if the union calls for it. I'd be on the phone now demanding that Oceania change your air tickets as you may not be able to go at all, let alone get home. Look at www.flyertalk.com, the Delta section for many discusssions on this topic. It's scary. I at least have some time to make alternate arrangements-you don't . I wouldn't wait for Oceania to contact you.

They will not do anything till the strike actually happens......you will have to take your chances that other airlines will pick up the Delta pax.
I am sure most cruiselines will have a back up plan but they are not going to panic just yet.

delta and the pilots have some sort of tentative agreement. I hope this is true. They have come to a compromise, details unknown.
