Many of us have had a strong interest in the fate of the previous Rotterdam (Rotterdam V) that was retired by HAL as a result of the SOLAS regulations.

There's an interesting thread in our "Whatever Happened To...?" Message Board that discusses this grand old ship...Rotterdam V (http://messages.cruisecritic.com/2/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=927093444&f=269097554&m=319099725)

Thanks for the info Walt!!
The older ships are generally such splendid vessels, not looking like some of the cruising apartment buildings of today!!! Don't get me wrong , I love most of the newer amenities, just think that some of the maritime magic went the way of the Rotterdam V and those like her!

Happy Cruising!

That is VERY GOOD NEWS!

IF everything goes as planned, I might be in
Gibraltar later this year. I'll try sneaking a little closer to that yard to get a few shots.
