There is an interesting article in the New York Times today about the ship's doctor onboard the Zuiderdam. I'm posting the link below:

If there are login problems, let me know, and I can cut and paste the article. susana.

Fascinating article, Susanna, thanks! I especially liked the quote from the passenger who said he'd rather die aboard ship then go to a Greek hospital!

I enjoy learning about all aspects of shipboard life. What a unique glimpse into the work and the world of a ship's doctor.

Susana, thanks for the article...we often don't hear much about the staff working behind the scenes...5 months on and 3 months off must be a huge adjustment in one's life...not sure I could do it..but then again...there's all those cruises :):) ..the doctor could probably write a great book about all his funny ( and not so funny ) experiences...

A job like his would be one person's dream and another's nightmare.

Glad you all were interested. The NYT is probably wondering why this article had so many hits today. susana.
