What's changed since Renaissance?

My husband and I traveled on the R7 back in 2001 (actually our first cruise together) and now we're booked on Insignia for 6/2. I was hoping that those of you who travelled on the ships when they were Renaissance ships and now that they're Oceania could point out some of the things that are different.

Changes ----

For the good:
1.) The food (Ren was pretty variable, OC is consistently better)
2.) Service seems better
3.) Entertainment has been improved, I know this is true because Ren allowed *me* on stage.

For the bad:
1.) The pricing
2.) The smoking policy is more lenient
3.) Did I mention the pricing?

JMHO, but most of the things that made Ren special are still very much in evidence. Open seating in the main dining room, no/limited smoking, smaller ship, port intensive itineraries, no formal nights.
Another difference from your R7 experience is the PH suites that the three current OC ships have.

One thing that did not change, unfortunately, was the selection of books in the library on Regatta.

Many of the books there still have the Ren imprint, with many in poor condition, they have far too many romance novels, and not enough reference books. Perhaps I am in the minority, but I was not impressed with the selection of books - but the room setting was quite nice.

All books in the libarary (over 1200 titles per ship) have already been replaced on all 3 ships.
