I've never sailed on HAL before and wondering if there is a self service laundry. We're going to be traveling before and after cruise and I'd really like to pack light this time and a place to do some laundry would help.

Yes, the Maasdam has a self service laundry.

Actually, there are several! :) Check, as sometimes the closest one is on a different deck.
They cost $2.00 to wash, and $1.00 to dry (or reverse; I can never remember). HAL supplies detergent; you bring the dryer sheets.
There is also an iron/ironing board available there.

Does anyone know if the Noordam has ironing facilities? We are on the veranda deck.

Yes, I know that no, they don't have an ironing room on any of the Vista-class ships---including the Noordam.
If you need something pressed you must send it out.
Are you sure you need something pressed? If you pack using plastic dry-cleaner bags, leave things to hang in a steamy bathroom, use Downy Wrinkle Releaser you might not need to iron at all.

You are correct RuthC - it is $2 for the washer and $1 for the dryer.
And there are laundry areas on the following decks: A Deck, Main Deck, Lower Promenade Deck and Verandah Deck on the Maasdam.
