:o I didn't receive the e-mail and had no idea it was 'out there'.

What fun to look at the article/pictures and think back to that extraordinary experience. Memories that will stay with us for a lifetime.

I got such delight each time we returned to Ryndam on our recent cruise and looked at the "bell on the bow" of the ship. It was even fun when we would look at the 'view from the bridge' on the TV and we could see the Bell in the picture.

my dh's this morning :). It's a lovely picture S7S. It is such a thrill to your friends here on the board to have one of "ours" as an Ambassador...WOW~

We too just got the email this morning, what is funny is just earlier this week Tom said to me "Shouldn't we be getting the next Mariner Magazine soon?" I guess it has arrived :)

BTW, Great article Sail, what an honor for you and DH. We are proud you were there to represent us:)

We also got the e-mail this morning. I enjoyed the Noordam write-up, and especially seeing Sail and her DH featured as our Ambassadors. I just wish they had put some video in there like they did for the SOE inaugural. That would be nice.

My e-mail just arrived..Sail & DH what a lovely picture! :) Congratulations on becoming our Ambassadors..We've learned so much from you & others on this board..Thanks for being so helpful..

We're "Off to see the wizard" next week and can't wait..You would think after so many years we would be blasé about cruising, but it's still very exciting to us..You all have helped us cope with the long wait between cruises!

Thanks again & Happy cruising.. :)

Thanks for posting the link, Marie.

If you had not, I would not have known the Mariner's e brochure was out nor have seen it....I'm sure we'll get the e-mail later today or tomorrow. I think they go out on a staggard basis. Afterall there are something like 5 MILLION Mariners. Unbelieveable, isn't it!!!!?!!!

Thank you both, Jim and Serendipity. Lucky BOTH of YOU as you both have cruises coming up VERY Soon!!! Enjoy your short countdowns.

How much I would love if there were a video clip, Jim. It would be so much fun for us to watch!!! Not that it doesn't replay in my mind VERY Clearly. :)

Just thought of something. Since you and your DH are our (Mariner) OFFICIAL Ambassadors, does that mean you'll get to christen the bell of the new Signature-dam when it comes out? Wouldn't that be great??

No, Jim. I think not. That would be awfully greedy of us.

It will be someone else's turn to have that honor and great fun. But.....we get to be the Ambassadors for the 2 1/2 years until the first Signature Ship comes out. :) I hope we get to attend and see the next Ambassadors Bless the Bell.

It was really fun on Ryndam as the day we boarded, they had delivered boxes of Noordam Magazines for the crew showing the ship and events of the Inauguration etc. Many of the stewards/ bartenders etc got such a kick out of telling us they saw our pictures in the magazine. At first we didn't know what they were talking about as no one had shown it to us and then someone got us a few copies. It was fun when we sat at a bar and the bartender said to DH..... Sir Robert, I saw your pictures today. Even the Captain made some really nice mention of it.

H-m-m-m. Since you're famous now, maybe you'd better get an agent! ;)

I think the only "AGENT" we're going to have is our Travel Agent. :) :)

S7S--

You mean HAL didnt send you a video of your moment?
Geez, if I only knew how to copy things from DVD onto my laptop, I'd send out the clip from the Cruise Video (this is the first and only time I bought the dang thing...)

I'd LOVE to have that DVD/video, Brian. I wish I knew how to get one. Had I only thought of it, I would have requested someone of you in the CC group buy me one when you were aboard and I would have paid you for it.

I'll see what I can do - perhaps someone who is more clever than I can tell me how to copy a clip off the DVD onto my laptop to send/post?

The DVD's are copyrighted property of the The Image Group, which is the onboard photography contractor for HAL. On their website they indicate that DVD's can be ordered. Here's the contact info they give. I don't know how long they archive the cruise video, but it wouldn't hurt to call or Email and ask if it is available.

If you are a guest interested in ordering:

Kakalina.....Thank you. What a nice message. :) We had a fabulous time and now treasure wonderful memories.

Grumpy -------YOU'RE THE BEST!!!! Thank you for that great info. I will be e-mailing today and calling tomorrow (assume their office closed on Sunday). I will let you know if I have any luck.

Brian.......Thank you a ton for your offer to try. Depending upon how I make out with The Image Group, I might still be asking for your help. I appreciate your offer.

:o Thank you, Sail, for the kind words. Let us know if you have any luck.

Did you have an almost uncontrollable urge to sneak out onto the forward deck of the Ryndam and pour champagne over the bell??:D

I have got to start paying better attention. I didn't see this thread and I think I just got the Mariner email today. I clicked on it knowing who we'd see for sure!!! Congratulations again, Sail! So exciting and it's the gift that just keeps on giving, isn't it?

She is definitely "your" Noordam and I know how you look forward to sailing on her one day soon.

I'm so sorry I'm so late posting, but you know how excited I've been for you all along about this.

As I have said so many times, the honor could not have been placed on anyone more deserving. You are a wonderful spokesperson for HAL and I honestly believe they should start paying you!!!:) :)

Glad you were able to order the video. It would be my pleasure to join you for a drink somewhere, someday on some dam ship. Did I mention my favorite drink is Remy Martin Louis XIII ?:D
