Silver Cloud 29MAR Dubai-Pt Said

Hi..
My partner and I are now booked on the Silver Cloud "Whispering Sands" cruise on 29MAR (Dubai-Pt. Said). We're in stateroom 719.

We were waitlisted for the Oct04 Pt. Said-Dubai but it looked as if it wouldn't clear. (Who, besides us, would want to cruise through the middle east, yet the Oct 04 voyage has been fully booked for a long time)

Anyway...

Our previous cruise experiences include Radisson, (Mariner and Navigator), Cunard, (QE2 and QM2 maiden), Seabourn (Sun and Spirit). This'll be our first exposure to SilverSea and we're really looking forward to it!

Hi Craig,

We are looking at taking a similar cruise Pt. Said - Mahe Oct 05. We lived in the U.A.E. for 3 years and have spent time in Dubai. I think you will be pleasantly surprized and if you can I would suggest that you take a trip to the old spice market. The shopping is fantastic and the gold shops in the souk a sight you must not miss. Hope you post a review on your return and that you enjoy your cruise.

We cruised last October on the Shadow calling at Egypt,Jordan,Oman,and Dubai.
From memory,the majority of passengers were non American.
Never once did we feel nervous while out and about,and in Egypt the security is extremely tight.
Silversea's organisation was superb.
