Tricia, I have just languished lovingly over your South Pacific photos. I only just noticed the link in your signature. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed them having cruised on the Wind Song through the Tahitian islands in 1990. In some ways it seems like yesterday.

We also stayed on Bora Bora for 4 days and Moorea for 3. I was wondering if you remember the name of the resort you visited on Bora Bora? We stayed at the Sofitel in an overwater bungalow.

When we were there only Windstar cruised the islands. Did you find it at all crowded? Did you write a review? If so, I missed it.

You did this cruise the right way avoiding that horrendous flight! 30 days from San Diego ... that had to be the cruise of a lifetime. I have never been anywhere on this earth as magnificent as Bora Bora and Moorea. We're never recovered and long to return. I noticed in a CC link above that Star Clippers is planning year-round Tahiti beginning December 2007.

I'd love to hear more about your cruise, islands visited, etc! So any info you can think of, I'd love to hear! We don't hear about cruises to the South Pacific too much. Anyone even dreaming of it should consider it. The only drawback is I think it spoils you forever.:)

Well, I'm certainly not Trish ... but I got to travel with her on the same cruise this past winter.

Trish did write a review, and a very well-done one ... and I've tried to find it for you, but can't. Perhaps she can post a link?

Here's the link to my review, though. It's a bit long, but maybe you might enjoy it.

You're right. Once you visit those South Pacific islands, you are spoiled for life. I only hope I can get back there again someday ... by doing this same itinerary again.

Hi, Rita! Thanks! I don't know how I missed her review or yours either for that matter. I'll save it to read when I get home from the dentist tomorrow:( .

Hopefully Tricia will see this thread at some point and post a link to hers, too. I have to pay better attention.

Heather,
Hi, glad you like the photos. We were at the Bora Bora Beach Hotel. It was a wonderful place. There was the most amazine snorkeling right off the beach there.

I don't know how to find the link for my review, which really wasn't in the review section, so I just brought them forward for you to look at. I hope you enjoy, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Trisha
PS Thanks Rita, you are so nice....

LOL ... well, brew a pot of tea first ... it's a long read. :) But, hey ... I got a tee-shirt for it, so I guess it was worth it. :)

Okay, now I'm curious. CC published my review of our Panama Canal cruise and I didn't get a T-shirt:( !!!! Do they usually give you a t-shirt when they publish it?????

Thanks, Trish! I'll read it when I get back from the dentist! I just sent the link to myself:) .

We found there was snorkelling everywhere on Bora Bora. We would snorkel right off the deck from our bungalow. I've never seen so many amazing fish ... like being in a fish tank!!! They even kissed my toes. Absolute heaven.

LOL ... I live in tee-shirts. Thankfully, I have the kind of job (night work in a computer center) where there is no dress code. Everyone wears jeans and tee-shirts.

The nice thing about the CC tee-shirts (I already owned two of them before winning this one) is that they make it easy for fellow CCers to spot you on the boat. I guess I'm just a bit shy and have a hard problem walking up to people and saying "are you with the CC group I'm supposed to be meeting?" So, I wear my CC tee-shirt the first day of the cruise ... and let them come to me. :)

Rita, I actually purchased one of the CC golf shirts. They're really, really nice! It's absolutely huge, but who cares? It has the nice CC logo. So I put that on. But our last cruise we'd all met each other anyway. But I really recommend the shirt ... the fabric is soooo nice. But it runs big!!!
