lololol....bringing this post back to life!
Captain Romano left the CB on July 31st. He was supposed to leave the 24th (the day my cruise ended) but at the captains party he told me he was asked to stay for one more week.
hey Linda, he's our neighbor, he lives in Davie! Very nice man, had him on two of my previous cruises.

WEll thank you for the replys. I was told by Princess he was off the ship July 24, and someone wrote and he was still the Captain, now I know why. How is this new Captain. I just love Captain Romano sailed with him in November on the Grand.Met him and talked to him a few times. He did tell me the CP was gonna be his ship , but I knew he would need a break sooner or later. We dont get to sail until Oct. 30th Eastern. Well I hope the new Captain is just a nice. I knew he was from Davie, he told me, he is a stones throw away from us. LOL

Hi Linda, we're neighbors (almost)!
We're in Margate - about 2 minutes from coconut creek - small world, huh? Already looking at the Star for October 2005. Didn't know Captain Romano was from Davie. Anyone know if he's returning to CB?

Hi SO FLo Deb,
I lived in Margate when I first moved to Florida 20 years ago, My mom and sister and her family still live there. I dont know when Capt. Romano is going back on the CP. Yes he does live in Davie, I talked to him on the Grand, he remarried our friends, and him and my husband had a nice chat in Italian. Seems my husband and him come from towns real close to each other in Italy. He told me he lived in Davie. He is such a nice man. I had asked him why we had a sorta rough ride when we left Port Everglades and he told me oh Linda that was nothing. He did say, when we leave Cosumel Friday nite, it will be a little rough. Well he was right. It was rough, the water was coming out of the pools. I had a patch on so I was ok,but my hubby wasn't. LOL. We also went to his Captains Party and talked to him there also. So I was really hopeing he would be on in Oct. Still. Enjoy your cruise on the Star.
Stay dry were getting some nasty weather here right now.

I have to agree about what a nice genuine person Captain Romano is. Almost 10 years ago when we took our first cruise on the old Star Princess the very first morning we were having breakfast outside of the Horizon court and he stopped at our table and we had a pleasant conversation.
This being our first cruise it made a very big impression on us.
So in 2 months when we sail the Caribbean Princess I am also hoping to have Captain Romano there to navigate the ship.

You might be in luck, he told me his break was for three months.
That may put him back on the ship by your sail date. :)

HI Linda! We booked in July--someone must've cancelled because we were lucky and got a cat BB on the Riviera deck midships. We originally booked on the Grand Princess out of Galveston (a little over an hours drive from our house) but had to cancel because of work conflicts. We're now are on the Caribbean Princess and looking forward to our 1st Princess cruise! Can't wait! :)

Birman Crazy,
You did get a nice location for booking in July. We are on the Dolphin (Midship,) Port Side, Thats the only place I will go. This will be our first Mini Suite, and I know the balconys are uncovered, but as long as it doesnt rain I dont care. I always went midship portside Caribe the 2 times I was on the Grand. We got such good prices so we took the Mini Suite. Now the Balconys were going for what we paid for the Mini 2 months ago. So many of us going our Travel Agent gave us a real good deal on the room plus extras. We will all have a great cruise Im sure. I am looking forward to see what they did with the Horizon Court, for I believe they split it for the Caribe food court also. At least that is what Im reading on the boards. See ya in about 2 months.
