Would the (about to open) Westin Boston Waterfront be a good choice location-wise for a pre cruise night? I live on the opposite coast and have never been to Boston---so it's hard to choose.
I know several of you live in the area and am hoping for input on this new hotel.

It's very close to the cruise terminal and if the only thing you are going to do is spend the night with no additional sightseeing I'd say go for it. It is in a relatively new non-neighborhood area next to a gigantic convention center which is not what Boston is known for. If you want more of a traditional Boston experience which involves walking/sightseeing outdoor cafes etc... I would stay in the Copley Square area. There is a Westin hotel in Copley Square as well.
