Can solo travelers get decent rates or do they always pay about double?
Thanks

I am a soso traveler and booked my trip on line. i was able to get ship board credit...even though the credit says per cabing, if a single is in a cabin it is spit in half. it's something though. in addition, I will get money earned towards my master card after the cruise is finished. all in all, the perks back reduced the single supplement making the cost just a tab bit more than a double. Much less than the usual double.

I did book an inside cabin on the Aloha deck though. I don't count on spending much time in my cabin so I really don't care.

You usually have to pay but you can look for bargins. Sometimes there is speicals that are really good. Also check single sights or find cabin mate. Check out yourowncabin.com too.

It really depends on the cruise, the time of year and luck. I got a really good rate (as a single) on my upcoming Regal cruise and that rate was available for only a short time, but am paying 180% for my New Year's CP cruise.

Well... My mom just booked a solo cruise with HAL - a back-to-back, with transfers from Seattle to Vancouver for $1,000. She'll have her own cabin. That seems like a good deal. She received a flyer in the mail from HAL (just today) and booked with them directly. I checked into 'www.yourowncabin.com, but it costs money for an e-mail subscription..
