We will be in a SA suite on the O'dam in July. I am wondering what the turn around time is for the laundry/dry cleaning service........from the time it is sent out until it returns. Also, if we send some things for pressing on embarkation day, will we have it back the next day?

Thanks everyone for your help!

We always have our dry cleaning back the next day. We send out many things on the first day, usually just for pressing. If you have a short time frame in which you need articles back, you should let your room steward know and I am sure he will put a rush on it for you. A great extra for suite guests IMO. It certainly makes my trip less stressful.

We are always in suites and sometimes we have waited up 48 hours before laundry came back.

We were on the Oosterdam 4/15. If we got the pressing to the cabin steward before 9 am we could have it back around 5 pm that day. Laundry and cleaning was 48 hours unless we paid extra for express, which was same day if in before 9 am.

I'm just back from the Noordam transatlantic.

There is an upcharge for same-day service - I think 50%. Normal service is if you get the laundry/dry cleaning to your steward by 9am, it is back the following day by 5pm. The only exception we found is that if you choose the $12 all-you-can-fit-in-a-laundry-bag, it takes until the following morning (48 hours).

We have used the "suite service" and also the $12 bag deal and we have done our own laundry.

Prefer to do our own if possible (not on some ships) as they wash everything apparently in very hot water and ruined several pieces. It also took 48 hours to get the dry cleaning returned.

Our 2 HAL cruises were both in S suites and we utilized the cleaning/pressing services daily. On embarkation day, before we left for dinner that night, we put things that needed pressing into the bag which was picked-up by our cabin steward when he came in for turn-down. We were pleasantly surprised to have the clothes returned mid-afternoon the next day. From there on, we put our clothes out for laundry each morning, had it picked-up by 9 AM and had it back the next day.

On our first cruise I thought I would be able to have my clothes sent out on embarkation day and returned the next day. This does not normally happen, it usually comes back on the second day. I think the laundry doesn't open until Sunday for return on Monday, though not 100% sure. This left me in a bit of a pickle, all my clothes had to be pressed from traveling. The steward was gracious enough to take one outfit and get it pressed for me and returned on Sunday so I could wear it for dinner after returning from HMC.

On our second cruise I brought a steamer with me :)
The laundry seemed to return faster on the second cruise than on the first, it generally took 2 days on our first and was back the next day on our second cruise. It was the same ship both times :)

I think you can get priority service ... which means that if you send it out in the morning, it will come back by dinner time. There's an extra charge for this expedited service, though ... at least for the regular cabins.

KK is right about this. Many time it was 48 hours. Do not count on it being back the following day.

It MIGHT come back late in the afternoon the following day if you get it in EARLY in the morning. :)

Our experience this spring is that even with the $12.00/bag laundry service, which is supposed to be 48 hours, was that the laundry was returned folded and/or on hangers by 2:00 PM the next day -- maybe earlier.
