Hi: Just arrived back on the 4 night Ryndam cruise...May 3-6/06.
Quite a few of us received a $50.00 promotion credit on our account. We also received $25.00 credit re a food voucher, because our ship came in late.
Does anyone know why we received the $50. and why other people didn't? I asked at the Front Desk and nobody knew.
In my particular case, I couldn't use the money because as soon as I noticed it, all the shops were closed, the casino was closed and I just couldn't spend it. Any comments from anyone????

Have no idea why you got a $50 promotional credit while others didn't.

Was it showing on your preliminary statement which you get the day before the end of the cruise? If it showed up then, you would have had lots of time to spend the money - a whole day.

Maybe we should all take a lesson from you and check our preliminary accounts about the 2nd or 3rd day of the cruise to see if we have gotten any promotional credits.

It could be a gift from you travelagent.

Just spoke to the Travel Agent and she said the reason we got a $50.00 on board credit was because we received our tickets late from Holland America.

It's too bad, I didn't know about this when we first got on the Ship....as I would have loved to spend it. We never got a notification saying what it was for or who gave it to us.

Just found out when I got home.

Chow, chow,

That $50 credit should have been put on your shipboard account and could have been used to offset the automatic tipping that is charged at a rate of $10 per person per day. Check over your final bill and perhaps you'll find that you did get it.

I hope you did get the benefit - $50 is $50!
