Diving in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta

Cruising on the Diamond Princess Mexican Rivera itinerary this fall and wish to participate in the SCUBA shore excursions offered in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta. Anyone have any experience with these tours? Anyone know what dive operators they use in each place? The tour includes all gear but we would like to use as much of our own gear as possible. We have weight integrated BCs which we plan to bring but would like to leave our weights at home. Do these operators provide weights for weight integrated BCs or only weight belts?

I went diving in Cabo 2 years ago with Princess. I only saw weight belts, but can't be sure. Their gear was in decent shape, but not excellent or anywhere near new.
I can't remember the name of the dive shop, I'll see if I can find it.

We went snorkeling in PV with Villarta Tours. There was a group who left with us, went scuba diving, their gear also didn't seem "hi tech", although their snorkel gear was in better condition that in Cabo.

Thanks, when we get close to the trip, I think I'll contact Princess to see if we can get the names of the dive shops and contact them directly about their gear.

If you remember the dive shops they used on your trip, that would also be great.

I think your idea is a good one. Even if I can locate the name, Princess might have contracted with a different operator this year.

I just got my padi cert. last week. planning to go diving in caboa,a 2 tank. did you do that one, if so how was it. I think I'll just bring my mask.
