Hi Steph,
I have a list of noisy rooms on deck 2 and yours are NOT on it so you should be good. We have stayed on deck 2 before but I dont remember the number, I just know we were aft on the ship, near the elevator.
We will be on the Wonder in April 5th 07. Are we on the same cruise as you?? We are on deck 2 also but I dont know my number yet, we just booked it saturday while on board the Wonder.
As I remember the rooms were just as spacious as the verandah rooms we have had. A few of the rooms dont have the split bathrooms, but I'm not sure which ones they are. I like the fact that on decks one and two it is very quiet as far as foot traffic goes and it is easier to get off the ship from deck 2 and the lower decks have less movement over the upper decks.
Have you ordered the free DVD from DCL? If not you can go to their web site and order one. They are very fun to watch and it may answer any questions you may have.
If I can help you with any questions please ask, and I will try to answer them for you. We have done 11 cruises with DCL so I do know a bit about their cruises.
Hope this helped some with your question.

Thanks for all the info! we will be sailing april 1. so we will just miss ya. I ordered the dvd last nite. thanks for the tip. We are all so excited and also overwhelemed making sure we know what we need to know.
I am now trying to look into how far the boat is from the beaches in Nassau and the shopping. Also when my mom made the reservations they told her that when we are on castaway my kids would each have their own group and their own beach to go to if they wanted. Have you ever traveled disney with kids and if so have you let the staff take your kids away with them to their own beach? TIA

Sorry we are just missing each other in April.
Yes I have cruise with 4 grandkids from ages 18 months to 12 years of age a couple of times. The kids beach is NOT near the ocean. It is a great play area. Lotsof sand like a beach, and a few structures that spray out water so the kids can get wet. They can just play or they do have different events, such as sand castle making, water fights, digging for dinosaur bones etc... You sign up ahead of time at the club for some of the activities. They also have big tent tops so the kids do have some shady area too. They also have their own special covered picnic area for lunch. Our grandkids loved going for awhile for special events, then they swam with their parents, used water toys, hiked with us and we all had lunch together. It is very well supervised and you do have a pager so they can contact you at anytime. There is an area on the sidewalk where you can look over and see the kids playing too. Most parents let their kids do this for awhile so they can have some quiet time at the adult beach. So if you decide to do this, NO worries!!! The counselors are great!!!
By the way this area for the kids is right across from the main beach area so they are very close to the family beach.
Hope this helps you some,

Sorry I forgot to answer your other question
SHOPPING!!!
Ok, at Nassau just walk to the end of the pier, then you exit through a building where there are a few shops, but they are more expensive.
When you exit the other side turn right on the sidewalk and keep following it around until you come to the road, turn right and walk along the water front. There will be a couple small shops across the street you can go to, but first I would just keep walking about 3 or 4 blocks to the straw market. You cant miss it, you can see it from the ship before you leave if you look. It is a large white tent for a building. You will have to cross the street to get to it. There are lots of nice and junkie things in there. We have got some great things in there. I will warn you this is NO place for a stroller!! The isles are narrow and crowded. Be prepared to dicker for prices there. Always ask, what are you asking for this? Then ask if they will take a few dollars less. They will. These peolpe love to dicker prices, it is a cultural thing. Also everone will ask you to buy there stuff or offer to show you what ever you want. They can seem kind of agressive sometimes, like a barker int he game booths at the fair. Just say NO Thanks and walk away. This is their culture and at first it can make you feel kind of uncomfortable. But enjoy the experience of seeing another culture and enjoy it. These are very nice people and friendly if you give them the chance. After you finish the straw market, go out the back side and turned left. The entire street on both sides is filled with shops, for everything you can think of. Everything is within walking distance of the ship. You wont get lost because the ship is within site at all times when you look down the side roads. When buying anything, please look it over very well, some clothing does have defects if yoru not careful. But NO worries is you just take a minute to look it over good.
Also the first afternoon on the ship there is a shopping presentation you can attend around 2 p.m. I believe. Your shopping guide will answer all your questions and give you tips on shopping at Nassau. Dont worry if you miss this, it will play on your TV all that evening and lasts about 20 minutes, so you can watch it then. In your Navigator paper in your room will be a map of Nassau shopping and some advertisements from some businesses there. Look it over good too.
The store on the ship are never open when your in port, so be sure to check them out in the evening sometime while your at sea.

WOW you are full of great info! thanks for all the help. The two things we were wanting to do in Nassau was some shopping and mostly the beach. So its nice to know everything is in walking distance. and its nice to know about the castaway beach. I will let my kids know about the activites. I know mostly they will be in the Ocean. They are water hogs... lol.
One more questions... lol. Dinning... do i need to buy my son some pants for dinning? All he wears is either shorts or jeans, even to church he wears jeans or shorts. So he doesnt have any pants. So I just wanted to be prepared for what other 11 yr old boys wear to dinner. TIA and i really appreicate you taking the time to answer my questions.

hi Steph,
They request no shorts. Recently they have said jeans are ok. I generally see bos that age in a simple button up, collared shirt and either nice jeans or Khaki type pants.
On Pirate night you can dress as pirate if you want to. So if shorts fit with the pirate theme they will be ok on pirate night. Old shorts cut up to be ragged edges and eye patches and a pirate t-shirt and pirate bandanas make ofr an inexpenive outfit but you are in the theme of the night.
You will recieve a free pirate bandana at dinner to wear that evening too.
The closest beach is over by Atlantis, not sure of the name but I know you can take a cab if you dont want to do an excursion to the beach. I have heard it is anice beach, but I have never been there myself. we usually do an excursion or just shop. We figure that our beach day is at castaway cay. I will try to find the name and let you know thenam ein a few days.

Those rooms don't seem to exist. The 2nd digit of the room number is always 0, 1, 5, or 6. 0 or 1 means you are on the port side; 5 or 6 means you are on the starboard side. Are you sure those are your room numbers?

My girlfriend and I have been to that beach, and we both agree that it is a nice beach. And, we agree that if you are going to a beach, it is best to just take a cab on your own rather than booking an excursion, so that you can save money, and go there and return when you want.

My girlfriend and I did the catamaran reef sail and snorkel excursion. We enjoyed it a lot, and highly recommend it! It was the first time I had been snorkeling, and it was a wonderful experience. And the boat ride was also very nice. After that, we had lunch on the ship. And then we went back out, and took a cab to the above mentioned beach at Paradise Island.

Hi Steph,
A few of the rooms dont have the split bathrooms, but I'm not sure which ones they are
The rooms that lack the split bathrooms are the Category 11 and 12 standard inside staterooms.
