Much has been posted about dinner on Diamond and how PC works or doesn't...

How about some "skinny" on lunch and breakfast.
How about it, SandyR or Sneekpeek or other Diamond Alum, what does ya do before the big dinner?

Hey SRPHNX:

Are you going on the Diamond soon? I am on the boards less and less these days because I'm jealous of everyone leaving soon. If you have any questions just e-mail me rklarer@cox.net.
I just found this board about two weeks before we went on Diamond. I got so much great information I made up my mind to return the favor and bring back a lot of info. So don't hesitate to e-mail me. I read my mail every day.

About the breakfast and lunch.
We didn't eat in the dining room because my husband loves the buffet stuff and so we did buffet for breakfast and lunch and then he dressed up for dinner in the PC restaurants. The PC restaurants are not open for breakfast or lunch.

The pizza joint is very good if you like thin crust (it was like a tortilla). They have cheese and pepperoni. The hamburger joint was good too - hamburgers, polish sausage, hot dogs, grilled chicken sandwiches and french fries. If you want your hamburger on the rare side, you have to sign a waiver! And - it gets very crowded at lunch time. The pizza is already made, they just keep it hot so you can get that fast.

The Horizon court was ok. We've had better buffets on other cruises. No cooked to order stuff. Wierd stuff - like deep fried deviled eggs! My husband loves the fruit selection and the deserts. The rest was pretty bad. We usually just ate fruit and scrambled (a little cold) eggs in the morning and lunch had a meat entree, salads, cold cuts, lots of hot side dishes like rice, veggies, but we didn't eat it. We made salads for lunch or just had pizza or hamburgers.
I saw the menu in the dining room and it was a lot nicer. Caesar salads, eggs benedict, lots of good soups. My husband just doesn't like the more formal thing at breakfast and lunch and the dining room is smaller. At dinner there are 5 restaurants and at lunch there is only one. So it was crowded. The buffet was very crowded at lunch. So many people took their lunch out to the pool area to eat it.

I think Sandy might have more information about the dining room for those two meals.

SURPRISE! Arizona (SneekPeek)

You are correct (mostly); however, regarding the Horizon Court Buffet: You CAN order eggs any style to suit your taste and they will cook them up immeditely. You just have to ask! There are many items in the back refrigerators that are not displayed out front and the staff are so glad to please you When You Ask. On the Old Pacific Princess (NYC to Bermuda), I got hungry in the middle of the night and went up to the buffet. I wanted fresh pineapple. I asked, and it wasn't 2 minutes before they came out with a Huge platter of freshly sliced, ice cold, sweet pineapple. I took it back to my cabin and also had some for breakfast. Be imaginative - Princess will give it to you. On the Star, I found the pineapples a little green and not sweet. I never did find the wonderful pineapples in Cairns. However, I never asked the Staff to go look for more ripe ones either. Just didn't have time - so much wonderful food, and I was eating the kiwi - it was great. Don't forget to ask for any special requests. If humanly possible, you will receive your wishes.

A Smile is just a little curve that sets a lot of things Straight.

So they do serve omelettes in Horizon Court? I have a question about dinner, if you please. We are wait listed for early traditional dinner. I read a post somewhere that they give menus from the other dining rooms everyday. Is that true?

Yes that is true. You will get the regular menu from the international dining room and one menu each night from ONE of the PC restaurants. Hang on to your early traditional seating - that seems to be the most popular. I guess you can have an omlet if you ask. One day they had lox, cream cheese, onions, capers etc. all set up but with no bagels. I asked for one and they were very nice about it. I wish I would have known about the omlets. I hated the pre cooked eggs. The had a tray every morning of eggs benedict and fried eggs over easy. I think they were cooked the night before!
