Originally I thought to do Barcelona to Athens, then got caught up in Rome to Stockholm and booked it (07). Now I am wondering if I should have gone with my original. I want to see Rome but realize I am upping the ante a lot by going in early plus we are inexperienced travelers (so getting around on are own is a little adventurous). I ponder these things as we may not be able to do this again. For you well traveled..which one would you recommend if one could only do one. Thanks a lot for any input.

My, what a conundrum you have!

Having experienced both routes we have to agree it is a difficult one to call.

If you want the Mediterranean culture and really nice weather then do the Med. cruise, but if you have not had the opportunity of visiting Europe and would like to enjoy a much more varied mix of cultures do the Rome to Stockholm itinerary. Depending on the time of year, you may not have such wonderful weather that the Med offers but you will still have several intersting stops in probably France, Spain and Portugal then in France, the Netherlands and some Baltic ports.

Whichever you choose have a wonderful experience and safe journeys.:):)

We have cruised in the Mediterranean several times, so we are seriously considering the Rome to Stockholm May '07 itinerary. The cool Northern European termperatures at that time concern me, but on our Med. cruises it was very, very hot. It might be nice for a change to layer clothing and take things off as needed.
