For those in the "know," do you think that Oceania will have a cruise which includes a "golf" theme where the ports will include golf outings and perhaps a pro onboard?

I'm not in the know but would be seriously interested if they did. I got off the ship to play golf twice on my Insignia Med. cruise last summer, once in the S. of France with friends who have a home on a 'golf community' and once with a fellow cruiser when we stopped in Malaga. It was a lot of fun, a welcome break from 'sightseeing' and both times when back onboard the ship several other passengers said they wished they'd thought of doing likewise!!

I looked at a Crystal golf theme Med cruise this July (only because of their 25% SS) but decided against it when I thought about all the luggage I'd need to travel with to accommodate the golf days, non-golf days and their more formal dress-code!! However, including golf in an itinerary on a 'country club casual' line would be no big deal luggagewise, just the addition of clubs which many airlines carry for free anyway - maybe FDR could add this to his list of suggestions already under consideration???

We would join in a second. Even if they only had 3 o:) r four courses in say a 10/12 day cruise.

I really like the idea of the golf outings. How about the summer of 2007, or one of the holiday cruises?

not to mention different itineraries, etc. etc.!!!

However, nothing ventured, nothing gained so here goes.... My personal preference would be for a golf theme Med. cruise in July or August as I always try to get away for a couple of weeks during that time.... But, would consider other dates if I could get away from work at that time.

I think it would depend on the itineraries, of course, holiday golf is always wonderful. Anytime for me.

I would ONLY be interested if John Daly hosted it.

We have only cruised RCCL but we always play golf in port (if there is a golf course). Mr. Ski might consider another line for a golf themed cruise.

Just off the Regatta, Venice to Barcelona, and they removed the Golf Driving net in favor of Cabana's. What golfer goes on a golf destination cruise w/o a net to hit into, when you are all day @ sea.
This was the best cruise I've ever taken, EVER. :( no golf for 2 weeks, but I'm @ the course today!

Since Austrailia has 4 of the top courses and New Zealand 1 why don't they add the much awaited Australia itinerary next year and call it a golf cruise? Kills 2 bird(ies) with one stone:D

editing to add..book me on that one ASAP!!

Difficult, had a quick look at early 2007 but most of the itineraries appear to be Adriatic or Aegean and the highest concentration of golf courses in the Med are in the Western Med. region. The only golf courses I have experience of in the Eastern Med region are Corfu and Malta and both of those were mediocre as opposed to first class. An itinerary that included ports in N. Italy (Tuscany region), S. France, Spain and Portugal would probably be best for including golf. Sorry I can't be more help...
