Just paid in full today. Going on Island Princess Southbound from Ankorage on 9/11. We're a little scared-had a somewhat bad experience booking. Was this worth it?-We're 1st timers.

What do you mean about your bad experience booking. It sounds like you're looking for reassurance for something but I'm not sure what.

If its "was it worth it" as in "was it worth it to pay in full well in advance" that's one question and a subjective one

If it's "was it worth it to book a cruise" then the answer is a resounding "YES!"

Cruises are good

While we are not new to cruising we went on our first Princess cruise last month and this board was an invaluable source of information for me.

Hi Sue,
We were sent a brochure from PCL that was not recognized by the booking agents. My TA and I were told that it was something that they had never seen before. After 1 1/2 hrs of frustration, threatening to go to another cruise line, we finally escalated to a manager. After 1 day we got their sincerest apologies. It just gave me a slight bad taste on the way we were first treated. I'm ok now- but what a way to start your first cruise.

Wow!!!!!! I would have been flipping out too!! Glad it got straightened out. Welcome to the Princess board. You will make a lot of friends here. And you will get a lot of info that everyone will share. You may read some heated topics, but don't let it scare you away. We love Princess, but of course have many varied views on how things should be done. And in spite of it, I feel like I belong to a very big family. I have been on 5 different cruise lines and just took my first Princess. The staff at Princess is by far the most outstanding. I think you just caught someone having a bad day. Everyone on our crew was so friendly and helpful. Enjoy your cruise!
