Do I need the docs to fill in the immigration form online? I did find out our flight numbers, but don't have any separate confirmation number other than the cruise confirmation number.

If I start filling in the form and find out I need something I don't have, will I be able to back out of that web page and come back later and do it? Or will that mess it all up and cause problems?

We are leaving in 11 days and I am anxious to get everything in order.

Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!

Ruth

Once you have filled out your form you can continue to call it up and edit it as often as you need. Go ahead and enter what you have now -- you can change it later. At first, with the new form, I was concerned about the same thing but once I took the plunge, the "edit" button appeared -- so in that sense the new forms are not particularly different from the older version except that they print out the information in a different order.

Thanks! I will take the plunge and do it!

In the past I have only filled out the paper forms. This seems more efficient!

Thanks again for your help.

You can input the information once you have your cruise confirmation number. The main things you need for the form are your passport numbers and flight number and time for your journey home at the end of the cruise, plus, of course, names, addresses, emergency contact info, and things like that. You should be able to do that in one sitting without having to go back ... but it's possible to do that to add/change information.

Good luck!

This is only partially true. Once you print the form out it will be locked and cannot be edited.

When the new form was activated, I was looking at it and since I was curious how it now looks, I just entered a dummy passport number, as I didn't have it with me at that time. Everything else was correct though, so I printed the form and in the evening at home, I wanted to go in again and enter the correct passport number. Then I got an error message saying the form cannot be edited once it has been printed. I had to contact HAL so they could adjust the passport number. Luckily all is OK now.

Odd, I remember it saying that once printed you could not edit it -- but I have been able to go in and change info and print it again.

The first time I printed, it printed my husband's disembarkation info for both of us (which of course included different numbers of mariner days) -- I was unable to edit that out at that time. A few days later I tried again and did a successful edit and reprint. Could it be that they changed the "only print it once" condition because there were too many problems?

Once you have quailfied and printed the "Express Boarding Pass", do you need to print out the Immigration form?

Thanks,

Sam

Thanks,

SamNot really, except that if you have wrong information in the immigration form, it will cause problems at checkin or disembarkation. You may have an express boarding pass, but if, for example, your passport number is wrong on the immigration form, that will have to be corrected at checkin when they physically look at the passport and what comes up on the computer screen. If I were running the express checkin line, I'd send the person to the back of the non-express line... but HAL people are probably to lenient to do that...

Right now, it is set up so that when you print the express pass, the immigration form also prints unless you tell your printer to print current page only.

The Page 2 of the Boarding Pass lists the PassPort information, emergency contact info, home address info, and departure info. Is this what you mean?

Thanks for you reply. :)

We filled out and printed our immigration forms and express boarding passes online. Do we still need to fill out the immigration form/questions that came with our cruise documents? Or are they the same things?

I just did mine over the weekend and (as I often do!) made a mistake I didn't notice until reading the printed form. But I had no trouble corecting it on-line and printing out a new one. Sounds like the new form (with the "express boarding pass") is more lenient...

No, you do not need to fill out the immigration forms that came with the documents if you've gone on line and fill out the form there. The only time I know that there are any additional immigration forms is if you happen to be on a cruise that stops at HMC and then you'll have to fill out an additional form once on the ship. This time of year I'm guessing you're doing Alaska or something other than the Caribbean so stopping at HMC is not an issue. Print out the forms you filled out on line and take a copy with you. Unless things have changed you'll have to sign a copy in front of the agent at the terminal but you'll not have to fill one out from scratch. The other form you'll have to fill out is the on-board charge account form. Sometimes I've gotten with my documents but most times the terminal agent provides it. Doesn't take long and they have to run your card through their machine one way or the other.

Thanks Randyk47 for that answer. Yes, we are going to Alaska so it is good to know that we don't have another form for HMC.
I will look through my documents again. It does seem like I saw the charge account form. However, I didn't want to fill it out this early. I want to fill that one out right before we reach the terminal because of the credit card information.
