I'm really sensitive to smoke and I was wondering if there are enough places to get away from smoke. If we get a veranda will others smoking on theirs be a problem? Help! (Thanks)

Many past posts that say cabins do not smell of past smoke. Veranda depends which way the wind is blowing. Casino is very bad. I think you will do fine. Just avoid where smoking is involved.

As a semi-recent non-smoker I can tell you that Sue is really right about the casino being smoky. On the Golden last month I think if I had still been smoking I could have saved a lot of money by just breathing deeply in there it was so prevalent.
I didn't catch much smoke on our balcony except an occasional, quick, blast of cigar smoke as that is one of the few places they can smoke those things....which I sure do respect.
On the Golden, the sports bar was also the cigar bar, a typical area you would avoid anyway.
As long as I avoided the casino and the sports bar I was fine. There just wasn't all that much smoking elsewhere but I suppose that would vary from cruise to cruise depending on the mix of passengers.

You'll be fine. Even on the balcony you shouldn't have any problem. You're out in the open air. It dissipates quickly. Last trip I sometimes caught a whiff of my next door neighbor's cigarette ... but there was never any visible smoke that came over or smell that was a bother.

I am highly allergic to tobacco smoke, and I have not had a problem on Princess ships overall. No smoking in dining rooms, thank goodness. And I agree with other posters...the casinos are very, very bad! Princess must not have a very good ventilation system. HAL casinos are much more tolerable. When I go to the casino (which I enjoy), I generally go mid morning when most are at the pools, etc. But I have not found it to be a problem elsewhere on the ships.

Thanks for the suggestions, Derf, but I think I'll stick to gambling late morning!

Balconies CAN be a big problem...especially with cigars... Read "what to do about the cigar smoker on the balcony next door".
Most of the rest of the ship (except the casinos) are pretty good. Most cruisers are very accomadating and follow the smoking rules. Cabins and balconies allow smoking and sometimes it gets really bad if you are even a couple cabins away depending on the wind. Never had a problem with my cabin smelling from previous passengers but sometimes I could smell it through the air conditioner.I am VERY sensitive to smoke.
