We are cruising to Alaska on the Diamond this August - with a 8 year old daughter who is a very picky eater. Does anyone know what kind of foods are offered on the children's menu?

Just off the Diamond this past Saturday. As I remember, the kids menu included, alphabet soup, fruit bowl, hot dog, hamburger (or cheeseburger), grilled cheese, spagetti, chicken fingers, fries and cookies or ice cream sundaes for dessert. We also asked for and received peanut butter and jelly, but I can't remember if it was on the menu. They were wonderful about serving just about anything the kids wanted. My neice only liked the blueberries from the fruit bowl, so after the first night, they had a bowl of blueberries waiting at her place each night for dinner.

That sounds great! My daughter loves chicken strips (fingers) and spaghetti! And of course all the desserts! She was alittle worried there wasn't going to be anything she liked. Can kids order off the regular menu if they want?

we were on the 4-3 Caribbean Princess- we didn't have any kids with us, but my husband still likes to order off the kids menu sometimes. He ordered a kids appetizer plate, and we eventually all started ordering them. I don't know if it is an official thing, or something our waiter created for us.

It had three chicken strips, onion rings, french fries, and a few celery and carrot sticks. we also got barbecue sauce and ranch with it.

Yes, kids can order off of the adult menu...and if you see things that they may like part of, don't hesitate to ask. For instance, one of my daughters loves avacado, so on the night they had seafood salad in an avacado boat, she asked just for the avacado.

We were on the Grand this summer and had no problem feeding my 7 and three years olds. The kids menu has all the favorites. Also the buffet is great for them. After a couple nights the kids wanted to eat early there, so they could go to the kids club while we ate and not have to sit still for an hour and half. We fed them at 5 or so, dropped them off at the club, and then after dinner either picked them up for the show or left the little one there to sleep.

Wendy -

YES! I admit it, I don't like French food and often ask for the kids menu. The kids menu is the same every night (someone listed the menu above) and the pasta and meat balls are very good.

We ate with some young children who only wanted spaghetti with a little butter and she ate this every night. They are very accomodating.

We ordered the Love Boat Volcano off the kids menu when DH and friend saw a child having it- like a banana split with tons of whip cream which you can have omitted. Can't see how a child could possibly eat all of it!

Just off the CP with a VERY picky eater. Every night the same thing, chicken fingers. On the second formal night he didn;t want to get dressed up so I called room service and asked for chicken fingers. They said that if it wasn't on the room service menu then they couldn't bring it to us. I told them that my son ordered it every night in the dining room so they said OK and they delivered it. Twice! They were very accomadating. Just remember to order ketsup for the fries otherwise they don't bring it.

yeah, just ask for the kids menu, its a paper placemat type thing that you can keep and look at later if you want.

just a side note, I ordered the fetticini alfredo from the everyday side of the dinner menu, then asked for a grilled chicken breast on it. This is a great alternative when none of the other entrees look good for you. I thought it was excellent, and so did the rest of my party who tried it. In fact I had to make sure and order it again later in the cruise.

I too was just on the Diamond, and I ordered off of the childrens menu a few times! I am a picky eater, and when I tasted my mephews chicken fingers and realized how GOOD they were, I had them alot! I didnt feel silly, I prewarned my group about what I was going to do so I wouldnt get any loud exclamations. Otherwise, the waiter didnt blink!

FYI to all of the other picky waters, on the Diamond, they took the Chicken breast and steak off of the "Always Available" menu, so get used to the chicken fingers! They are darn good!!!!!

Chicken on the Caesar Salad is also very good.

Seriously, I am a very picky eater and Princess always accomodates me. Don't be afraid to ask for things - I always get a salad dressing (French) that is not on the menu often, I always get mashed potatoes (never make them at home and not on the menu), I ask for vegetables that are on other entrees, etc. . I have asked for a simple red pasta before. The waiters and cooks are just fantastic when it comes to special requests.

Princess is very good with kids. Our 6 year ordered chocolate milk the first night & it was ready & waiting for us every night there after.
They also brought her entree right away so she had something to eat while we were eating our apps & soup & salad.
They even brought her desert while we were eating our entree.
ANother idea she order was plain pasta that they brought butter & paresman chesse for her to add to.
Yes don't forget to ask for the Ketchup . . . they won't/don't leave the bottle on the table either.
ANs Yes the kids can order off the main menu in the dining room . ..
