Hi Everyone,
We are hoping my in-laws will get upgraded from their obstructed FF category to possibly a balcony or non-obstructed cabin.
In one week my husband and I were upgraded from AE to AA.
Just want to hear about everyone's FREE upgrades.
Thanks

We were upgraded on the Inaugural sailing of the Caribbean Princess from an AA room (non-guarantee, a room number) to a Penthouse suite.
This happened five days before we sailed.
(The suite was great!)

We are also on the 6/26, we have insides and an outside was about the same price after the price drop. Our TA said we'd have to forfiet the 100.00 per person deposit and rebook to get an upgrade, were you upgraded before final payment?

Oops...sorry. I'm on the Diamond, not Caribbean Princess.

I am currently booked in an AA category and am REALLY hoping for an upgrade. Not all that excited about the exposed balcony on the Caribbean Princess Dolphin deck. My only option is an AD cat (covered balcony on Emerald deck), but have heard you hear noise from Club Fusion until late hours... Or go for a smaller room... Ok...there is another option, pay for a full suite... Well...that's about $600 more per passenger... I think I'll just keep my fingers crossed for an upgrade...

How do you get these upgrades? are you just chosen? and how do you find out about it?
I have my precruise docs already, plus we have two adjoining cabins on Baja, so I am probably an unlikely candidate for an upgrade? tell me more....

We found out when I looked at the cruise personalizer and saw the room had changed. I looked in the a.m., then a little later and in that time we had been upgraded. When I got home for lunch there was a message on the machine telling us about the upgrade with a number to call if there were questions. We also got notices by mail but those arrived while we were actually enjoying that suite!

can you get upgraded if you have a cabin assignment, not a guarantee?
We are on the 7/10 CP sailing
thanks

we were both in assigned cabins, not guarantees. We booked last September. In january my inlaws got an email from our TA telling them about their good fortune.
In our case I saw the prices dropped dramatically on the mini suites. I emailed our TA and asked the price difference from our cabin BB to an AB mini. I got an email back in a couple hours telling us we were moved to the mini suite and got money off as well.
I emailed our TA about 2 weekw before final payment.

We are on the 9/18 sailing and had booked an inside (lowest) guarantee. We got an email from *********** (our agency) that we'd been upgraded to an obstructed outside, and it even included a cabin number. I guess I could have found this out in the Personalizer as well, but I hadn't looked. According to the ship's diagram, our assigned cabin looks to be between lifeboats, so perhaps it isn't totally obstructed. But who cares-- this is an incredible upgrade!

Hi Shelli - -
We're on the 9/18 sailing with you. We hadn't planned to cruise this year but many of our friends are going and we couldn't resist. We too booked an inside guaranty and were assigned an inside stateroom on the Aloha deck. On our past 4 cruises on the Grand Princess we've had 2 obstructed view and 2 balconies on the Caribe deck. It looks like the upgrade fairy passed us by this year and we'll have to pay the extra money if we want a different room. I'm thankful to be going regardless of the room.
See you in September!

Shelli,
Considering the fact that you had 4 walls before this is quite a good upgrade. It's nice to have some natural light come into the room. On our first cruise in an inside cabin it is so dark in the cabin all the time that we tended to sleep too much.
Congrats on the upgrade.
