I was just looking at the schedule of chefs to appear on various ships - and noticed that Jacques Torres was aboard Ryndam for her May 9 cruise.
Did anyone here participate/meet him? Lisa - Wasn't that the one you were on & did you get to met him?
Would anyone book a cruise to see their favorite chef/foodie in person?

While I wouldn't book a cruise simply because of the chef that might be aboard, if I'd already decided that I wanted to take a 7-day cruise to Alaska I would be sorely tempted to book the Zaandam June 23 sailing because Cat Cora would be appearing...

I very well might book if it was one of my favorite chefs. Here on the Gulf Coast (at least prior to Katrina), my favorite chef in New Orleans was Susan Spicer. I do know that she has sailed as a guest out of NO. Of course my real best of all favorite chef is my daughter - the best Mediterranean chef around (IMHO).:)

We were fortunate to have a chocolate chef on the Ryndam for a couple of days last November and Chefs Alex and Aki for our entire 15 day cruise on the Amsterdam. We had already booked those cruises not knowing that there were going to be chefs on board.
I wouldn't book a cruise just because a certain chef is scheduled to be on it.

I think if it was an itinerary that I was interested in, I would book a cruise if a celebrity chef were aboard. I would want the opportunity to take interactive classes with that chef and yes, I would most definitely pay extra for those classes.

Price & itinerary would come first for me, but having a celebrity chef on board any given cruise would be the tie-breaker for me...:)
