We just got off the Dawn on Sunday. What can I say except it was a great cruise! Ship, food, service and weather was great!
Loved our cabin, AC mini suite. We did diving on 4 of the ports, Megan the dive instructor passes on greeting to John.
Will try to post a link to photos latter, if you have any question will try to answer them but we are super busy trying to catch up at work.

Hi Debbie and Richard,
It was great meeting you folks. Wish we could have gotten together a bit more, but we were really pooped by the time we got back from being on the islands all day.
We got in last night (Monday). We were scheduled to be in Sunday night.Missed a day of work. Our Houston to Seattle flight was overbooked, so they gave us a $600 pp credit for future travel and put us up for the night. It worked out fine.
Getting ready to go back to work now.
Will talk to you later.
Take care
Caroline :-)

Hi Richard and Debbie,

I knew you would have a great time. Thanks for passing on my hello to Meghan.

I cannot wait to hear your impressions of the Rhone dive in Tortola.

I thought the Dawn was an excellent ship and the itenary just a delight.

Hi John and Caroline,

Caroline wish we could have also spent more time with you and your mom, but 7 days goes by so quick! We are plucked from paradise and plunged head first into work a day world. There always Tahiti!!

John, the Rhone wreck was an outstanding dive! I saw your finger prints on the brass port hole window so we rubbed them off. Also we saw the biggest lobster ever! Almost 4 feet long, never fit into one of our steam pots.
We took 3 rolls of under water photos, off to have them put on a disc and will post them!

We ate in the steak house twice and had great food, although we thought they served the food on the open deck, it was just the Horizon Buffet area, prefer the atmosphere of the steakhouse on the TP better.

Can't wait till our next vaction.

Gvre -

Location of Sterling Steak house - That is too bad it was served inside. I was on the Sun Princess to Mexico (sister ship) and they did serve the food outside on the deck outside of where the grill is. We overlooked the pool and it was gorgeous.

Absolutely had the time of my life. Stopped by the Wheelhouse but didn't see a group so maybe next time we can all get together.

Does anyone know the name of the song that they played at the beginning of the morning show with John and Scott? If you do please let me know.

Thanks!

Is the shampoo and conditioner that is supplied on the Dawn...the Lotus spa eucalyptus kind. Also, do they supply bar soap or is there a soap dispensers? If it is bar soap...what kind. I have senitive skin and some of the soaps are too harsh. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
Thanks

CaribbeanCrazy Just off Dawn 4/4 and you are correct about the shampoo and conditioner. The soap is bar soap, but it is part of the Lotus spa group. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and it didn't bother me at all. In fact, I thought it was absolutely wonderful. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm glad to hear Princess supplies "the good stuff"...this way I won't have to lug all my own toiletries.

We had soap, towels, and a spare roll of toliet paper. We never used the shampoo, but there was plenty avaliable.
We realy loved the ship and we'll be back on her again this Christmas.

Sorry you missed us gopher's girl, we were in the Wheelhouse bar. I had a CC hat on. We had PC dinning sat with anyone or ourselves. Food was good to excellent.
Highly recommend this ship.

I had posted a similar message to the original thread, not realizing that this thread also existed.

Here is a photo summary of our perspective of the cruise (http://www.botos.com/cruise2004/).

We had a great time!

You should have put a leash on that lobster and walked him along the deck on the ship straight to the kitchen.

Thanks for the mini review of the Dawn. I wonder why they have switched the Steakhouse to all inside dining? I know that a year ago the Steakhouse was located outside on the Dawn, so sorry to hear that they have moved it inside. We loved that alternate on the Sun too, but having it moved inside into the Horizon Court really takes away from some of it's charm we thought.
See you in Tahiti Richard! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Richard and Debbie,
Thanks for the appreciative comments regarding the photos. you're no slouches yourselves in the photography department.
Wish we could join you for the Tahiti cruise this fall, but we've already got Hawaii booked this summer, and there's only so much time one can be away from work each year.
Maybe we can meet in the LA area when we come out to see our son and daughter-in-law. No definite plans for that yet.
