Does anybody know if there is a lot of noise from the pool in these cabins?

Thanks,Jill

we have stayed in 7077 (same general area) -- I loved that cabin (verandah is completely covered by lido deck above so no direct sun). The Navigation deck was, in general, very quiet. There were some times (I believe, usually late afternoon) when we heard some chair moving above us -- but it did not bother and I do not recall hearing it every day. I do not recall any noises that woke us up. DH and I had a great 10 days in that cabin.

whatever you choose, have a great cruise. Love the Zaandam.

The cabins that OP is talking about are inside cabins.

I am aware that they are inside cabins, but they are just across the hall from 7077 -- I would assume noise levels would be similar -- or posssibly less if they are actually located right under the pool -- as no chair movements in the pool.

I highly recommend 7086 or 7083

They're priced as an inside due to their strange/small layout, but do have windows that face astern - it's the next best thing to having your own aft-facing verandah.

Brian:
Thought I was the only one who knew about these cabins.
I am in 7086 on the Zaandam to Hawaii in November. Last time I was on the Zaandam I was in a Veranda suite, but spent just as much time on the "aft veranda" as I did on the balcony, and never saw another person out there.

Brian and David,
We are booked in 7086 on Volendam -- Panama Canal -- Sept/Oct 06
This cabin sounds great from what I have read on the boards. Hope it comes up to expectations!

Would the "aft deck" outside the cabin be a good spot to be going through the canal?
Does the configuration make it seem very small? How is it different?
Where is the window in relation to the bed position?
Is it better to have the beds set up as twin or a queen?
Are there any lounge chairs out on that deck?

Hope you do not mind all the questions, I am a pre cruise information addict!!!

Thanks a lot.

Bert.

Can't say - never done the Canal - but its a great place to see where you've been...

Yeah, it's a strange L-shaped layout that makes the room feel kinda small. In 7086, the bathroom is immediately on the left - behind the bathroom is the "sitting area" with the sofa facing the back wall of the bathroom no more than 24-30" from the front edge of the sofa. To the right of the door is the desk & TV w/ wardrobes in the far corner.

Where is the window in relation to the bed position?
Beds are to the right under the "faux window" curtains as found in an inside stateroom, but on the adjacent wall is the real window.

Is it better to have the beds set up as twin or a queen?
Do you like sleeping with the person you're traveling with?

Are there any lounge chairs out on that deck?
Yes

Brian, we are already booked on Zaandam, any tips how to secure both of these cabins?

We have 2 GUAR cabins.

Thanks so much!

Best thing to do is call the TA and book them specifically - there may be an upcharge for this but you never know unless you ask.
IMO - They aren't super-conducive for booking together tho as the entrances for each stateroom are on opposite corridors - to get to the other room you'll have to either walk forward to the aft elevator lobby, over and back - or go outside and back in the other door.

Enjoy!
