Called HAL a few weeks ago and they said they would have their pricing for o7 in May. I just called last week and now not until July. The girl was extremely
rude on the phone. Need to get the date set so I can book the air.

It's not unusual for HAL's Alaska fares to come out after eveyone else's. The promo fares for Alaska, in my experience, won't come out until the fall Mariner magazine comes out. They'll do another promo in January too, that usually expires feb 28th.
We don't worry about air as Southwest doesn't put out their deals earlier than 3-4 months ahead.
Don't get too impatient, you may lose a great fare or itinerary. We got a free hotel room pre-cruise in Seattle, and the fares just went down again for our September cruise to Alaska.

For this year's Alaskan cruise, we were told several different dates last year. We were finally able to book it the middle of June of 2005.

I wanted to book the Noordam to Alaska next year after touring her in NY but couldn't wait any longer. :(
Wound up booking Princess.

Which Princess cruise did you book? You can always cancel Princess if you like HAL's itineraries/prices better. The Noordam doesn't have an itinerary that I'd pick if it were my first Alaskan cruise, but I could see doing it for my 2nd Alaskan cruise. :)

Yes that's true but I like the itinerary better on the Princess ship more. We are booked on a Northbound Voyage of the Glaciers, on the Sapphire Princess, where as the Noordam is a Vancouver roundtrip. I loved the Noordam when we toured her and sailed on the Zuiderdam last summer.

While HAL's nightlife is not what I am used to, on an Alaskan cruise I think it would be perfect.

I am sure HAL won't miss my booking and will find someone to take my place.;)

The Noordam is sailing from Seattle next year, so I think you made the right decision.

I reserved my Alaska 2007 cruise on Radiance of the Seas when RCI/Celebrity became available for booking last month, but had been giving Princess and HAL some serious thought since then. I put a hold on the Pacific Princess yesterday, and when I got an e-mail about the CC group cruise on the Sapphire being moved up a week to June 2nd (now on the Diamond), that clinched my decision. I paid the deposit on the Pacific Princess and cancelled my booking with RCI today. But I STILL want to see HAL's prices!

LOL! Yeah I would have missed the ship.. I strongly considered it because the air would have been considerably cheaper but after looking at the itineraries I booked an inside cabin to make up for the large air price. Since then my sister has also booked, her first cruise ever, so I'm going to stick to Princess for this year.

Nancy, I agree that the Noordam is sailing from Seattle next year. She will be doing 7 day cruises leaving on Sundays taking the place of the Westerdam this year. We are looking at June 17th and while many want them to have it so they can book now, the later the better for me since I want to book while I am on board the Veendam in late September and don't want the cabin I want to select to be gone:D

Just checked Travelocity, and HAL's Alaska cruises for 2007 are listed...again!

Nancy, you are right, How strange, yet HAL's own website has nothing:confused: I see the prices are extremely high. Definitely a lot more than this year. I tried to pull up the Ryndam, that I just did and compare for next year. 1. they did not have the same week showing and the earliest one had NO S Suite available:confused:

I remember reading how Alaska is going to be charging the cruise lines a lot more for 2007 so this could be part of the large increases beside trying to make up for all the losses.

Not that this has anything specific to do with Alaska 2007 cruises, but...

Any idea if, when I'm on my WindStar cruise next month, I would get special HAL fare pricing by booking onboard as opposed to waiting to go thru my TA who always has great pricing and extra perks? Didn't know if the Mariner perks extended thru the WindStar line.
