:o Awww, Thanks, Guys and Gals... the birthday wishes are much appreciated. Uncle Sam now officially considers me to be an Old Fart, but I figure I'm just officially entering the second half of my life.:D How am I celebrating? By making the final payment for our 2007 circle South America/Antartic cruise! My "present" is the 3% discount for early payment that HAL offered:) .

Let me add my voice to the refrain:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU:)
I owe you big time, Grumpy. If it weren't for your Prinsendam 2005 journal, I would never have had the courage to post here for the first time. It's all your fault:rolleyes: "Goede Reis" to you and Slinkie!

Happy Happy Birthday Grumpy. Hey, you are older than I am (but only by a few months:D ).
There is a birthday message for you over on the Amsterdam Roll Call board, under 2007 World Cruise, from someone named Cruispang.
Have a great day and a wonderful birthday celebration.
Valerie:)

Happy Birthday Grumpy!!!!!!
I hope your day is filled with wonderful memories - DH just attained official "old fart" status with our Cdn Gov't last month. There are certain perks to "old fart" status, and we plan on taking advantage of every one of them - so should you! I really enjoy travelling vicariously through you & Slinky - stay healthy and best wishes for many more wonderful years ahead.
Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

I have to put my two cents in here too, as an interested party. I am just glad nobody has expressed a wish for him to "act his age." He sets the standard for every age he attains! We will continue to celebrate every day of our lives as a gift.
I owe such appreciation to all in this wonderful Cruise Critic group who have made our cruising experiences all the better when we've been able to share them. The more we meet CC people on board the ships the more we appreciate the whole experience, and I know that's not just me, but my dear Grumpy as well.

Grumpster:
When I read on this thread that your just turnig 65 I was stunned. A man of your wisdom and means I assumed to be in his 70's. I'm and old 58 as of a few days ago an don't plan to do extended cruises for many years yet. The "Circle" cruise was a must do affair for us in case we never again had the health to do it and and it was incredible. I thought you may be done before we do the long ones again.
You have exppressed a hope that we might cruise together and I now think that such is a distinct possability. We are planning our future cruises on the basis of who of our cruising friends are going and you and Slinkie are in that list.
All the best and all that crap

Thank you, thank you, to each and every one for the birthday wishes. I consider all of you to be among my very special friends and hope at some point to meet each of you personally, preferably on some dam ship:D
Ides, we too wanted to do the world cruise while we could really enjoy it. I'm sure there were some on your cruise, as there were on ours, that you could tell were crossing off one of the final items on their "I must do this before I die" list. We are fortunate at this time to have our health and the means to enjoy extended cruising, but we all know that could change in a heartbeat. Now, as regards that "wisdom" thingy... over the years I've been called "dumba**" a lot more times than wise. In fact wise is usually followed by the same three letters that follow dumb. Obviously, you are a man of keen insight and all that crap:D

Well kind sir, I couldn't think of any other way to get your attention :p and keep it a surprise! ;)
I also hoped some of your friends would drop in to read the "question."
Soooooo, I guess my question would be, ummm, err.....Did it work?
You and your dear wife gave me so many enjoyable weeks of following your adventures and I couldn't think of a better way to thank you than to have a little surprise party. Ok, I will admit it's a bit late but then it is never too late to let someone know you appreciate them.
If I didn't have other commitments, I would have met you on your next big cruise but alas it is not to be. :( I will however look forward to reading your story.

:) Thank's again, Micki... It was a nice surprise. Now what are we going to do about all of those "snoopy" people that just couldn't resist checking to see what SomeBeach was asking Grumpy? ;) I guess thanking them for coming to the birthday bash would be the most appropriate.:D
Thank you ALL for your kind words.
