How convenient is the internet access through the Business Center on the Grand Princess? Is it available 24/7? What are the rates and best time to go to avoid lines?
Thank you!

Did the Grand Princess finally get an "Internet Cafe"?
It was a "business center" the last time I was on the ship (a year ago) and there was only about 6-8 or so computers and it did have limited hours for access. Though you could check out laptops 24 hours a day for use in the atrium.
We were on the Grand 2 years ago and there was rumors about moving things around to make room for an Internet Cafe and we were surprised it wasn't done last year when we sailed.

They have the Internet Cafe now which is located on Plaza Deck (Deck 5). There are 15 computers there and 3 more located in the library. It's 35 cents a minute unless you are platinum/elite and there is no charge then.
I never had any trouble getting a computer to use and it is open all the time.

Are you saying the Grand Princess is cheaper than the other Princess ships? I'm Elite and I get it free, but my last two Princess cruises (both in 2003) internet charges were billed in 15 minute increments ($7.50 per 15 minutes). At 35 cents per minute that would equal only $5.25 per 15 minutes.

That was the amount posted for the internet.

Interesting. Someone just posted on another thread that it's 65 center/minute on the Caribbean Princess. I guess they're charging more on the newer ships.

Arlene - last year the Coral and Golden had prices at .35/minute. What I guessed was those that had the card slide system had it at .35/minute and the ones with the old system had it at .50/minute or $7.50/15 minutes.
Can anyone tell me on Deck 5 where they put the Internet Cafe? Glad to hear that it finally has one. Is it near where the future cruise specialist's office is?

The internet is also free for those who are staying in full suites, regardless of your status with Princess. ;-)
