Hi,
Just wondering if Indonesian crewmember Sam is still on the Westerdam. He hosts the Indonesian show and the farewell dinner. Maybe he's the ass't maitre 'd in the dining room? He was so great and entertaining, and repeatedly said, "You are always on my mind."
Thanks!! We have family going in June and wanted to know if they'll get to see him.

Hi Sailsalot:
This was too long ago, probably, to be of any help, but we were on the Westerdam on December and there was an Asst. Maitre'd, head waiter, something like that, named Sam. He was very fun and would say "Call me Sam The Man, Sam I Am" etc. On our cruise in April on the Oosterdam, I mentioned him to our wait staff and they all knew him. We didn't talk about which ship he was currently on, though.
Hope you get more timely information!

Kletskop, if you didn't see the Indonesian show, then you must have seen the Filipino show. They alternate cruises as to which show is done, so the cruise before and after you probably had the Indonesian show.
Thanks, Mary, for the update!

Are you talking about the song the Indonisians crew who sang the last night in the dining room? That was not much of a show, or some othershow in the vista lounge? There was no indonisian or Fillopin0 show in any of the showrooms.
Did I miss something? Any other Westerdam cruisers that missed a show the week of May 7th?

Kletskop,
Having been aboard with you, I agree. We weren't aware of one listed in the daily programs; however, the "Idol" competition conflicted with several shows as did the 6:30 PM start times for those of us with late dinner seatings, so we may have just overlooked it.

Sometimes they have to skip the crew shows, either Indonesian or Fillipino. On our recent Oosterdam cruise they did not have a cruise show because they were in transition between Mexican Riviera cruises and Alaska cruises and there was too much going on. It wasn't really explained, so I don't exactly know if that meant additional crew responsibilities so that they didn't have time to organize the show, or what.
But every other cruise we have been on they have had the crew show, sometimes it is very late, about 11:00 p.m. or a little later.
