View Full Version : Most traveled on Princess lunch/brunch? Is this now for Elite only?

I was fortunate last year to be one of the most traveled passengers on my Coral Princess cruise (didn't make it for my Golden cruise 5 months later) and was invited to a lunch with the Captain (but he didn't show/he was leaving the ship the following day), Senior Officers, CD, etc. . .
I am now wondering with the "Elite Status" - if this lunch has turned into an "Elite lunch/brunch" or if Platinum people still have a chance to be invited. I am still plainum status and will be for a few more cruises.
Anyone have any recent experience?

Very interesting question Coral, I wonder the same thing.
We were also invited and attended the captain's luncheon last year and had a great time.
Hopefully someone will be able to answer this as I would also like to know.
Still a few more cruises before we reach ellite status, even though we have as many days onboard as some of the ellite members. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Toto - you raise a good point. The most traveled luncheon is (was?) normally based on days traveled.

We just got off the Carib. Princess, and attended the lunch. There were both Elite, and the most traveled (days at sea)which still happen to be Platinum in attendance.

We were on the Diamond inaugural and were invited to the Captain's lunch. We happen to be Elite but the lunch is still based on the "top days sailed" on any given cruise.

Can someone tell me what Elite status consists of? I haven't heard of that one. We are Platinum status, and February on Dawn Princess we were invited to a special cocktail party which took place in a small two-room place labeled Conference Room which had its own bar, which was on Riviera Deck in a forward hallway, and which is not shown on deck plans for the ship. We were quite impressed with ourselves, there were only about two dozen people there. Pictures were taken with the Captain, and later I was told these pictures would be delivered to our stateroom. Which they never were, though. This was a first for us.

The three levels of past passenger status are listed on the Princess web site. You can find the benefits listed here: https://book.princess.com/captaincircle/jsp/memberShipBenefitsForProspect.jsp

We sat with the Princess rep at the luncheon on Coral Princess in February, and he told us that it is normally for the top 40 (total) travelled passengers on the cruise, no matter what your status might be.

We just got off the Grand and we had Platinum travelers at our table at the Captain's lunch. We are Elite (just) and one person had over 30 cruises under her belt. It just depends on the cruise and if anyone has more time than you for you to make the cut-off for days most travelled.

was just looking over my docs for an upcoming cruise and noticed there was a line at the bottom of the passenger coupon (ticket) that said how many Princess/P&O/Sitmar cruises I'd taken before. Hadn't noticed that before. Is there somewhere else that records the number of days? And if this is available somewhere?
Thanks.

On the Coral Princess - it was the top 20 cabins and their guest (40 total people). Chances are - it turns out to be the top 40 people.
