Could someone confirm for me that you can request some snacks (nuts or chips) for your stateroom besides the complimentary bowl of fruit? Any additional charge?

What Hucc said - except you will be charged for soda and alcohol.

Plus, you can order whatever you like...it doesn't have to be on the room service menu. If it's in the kitchen, they will normally bring it.

We were recently on the Dawn. I have a habit of tipping our steward additional the FIRST time we meet them, just so he knows we are looking forward to a WONDERFUL cruise.

One afternoon/evening we had justa bit much to drink and needed some snacks before dinner. I made the request of him and were were AMAZED at the tray that showed up with cheeses, crackers, 2 kinds of nuts, chips and chex-mix stuff for four people. It was great!

I don't know what's on the breakfast card, but I'm told on Princess you can order anything they have in the kitchen to be brought to your cabin. I think that means the sky's the limit. How very nice of them!

The breakfast card is pretty basic- no hot food. Juices, fruit, cereal, pastries, breads, yogurt, etc.

You may write in on the room service card any menu item that would normally be served, from what I've read on these boards. So, if you have a hankering for French Toast, by all means, write it on the room service form, and don't forget to request everything that you would want to go with it, such as syrup, butter, etc..... I understand that if it's not requested, they don't *assume* that you want it. I'd lean on the side of caution and request anything, even salt and pepper.

Rosieo:

Are you sure about that? My cruise documents for the Diamond said that you could only bring your own wine. Maybe on other ships it's ok but the Diamond is only wine.

The breakfast card they leave on your bed at "turn down" is basically a continental breakfast. You can pick up a menu from the restaurants to order hot food for breakfast!

A friend had a suite and asked the room steward for additional wine glasses for a small party in the suite. The room steward on her own brought "snack items" for us. Pretzel/chex mix in one bowl and honey covered type peanuts in another bowl.

Guardhouse.... are you saying we should ask for a snack tray from our cabin steward and not through room service?

Thanks for you input. I'm trying to please 4 major martini fans at happy hour.

I really can't wait to ask for these snacks.

I don't have any real idea why this sounds so
appealing but it does.

I just want to be sure I have this right.

DD likes Dr Pepper which is not offered on the ship. I like Cornoa which was not offered on our last Princess sailing.

I can walk on the ship carrying a case of each and that is ok? They won't take it away from me?

Quote from my passenger contract, page 3:

"Carrier kindly requests that you do not bring alcoholic beverages of any kind (except wine and champagne) on board for consumption"

Ok - so wine and champagne, but no beer.

Does anyone know if you can have alcohol delivered to the ship? We had a service from Miami deliver beer, hard lemonade, and sodas deliver to the Dawn last year. We were advised by others on the NCL board that this was the way to get the alcohol on board since NCL doesn't allow pax to carry any onboard. I would like to do the same for our Sept. cruise on the Caribbean. I'm worried if Princess allows carry-on they won't accept deliveries. Thanks for any info.

Go to the Princess website, and you can download an order form to order alcohol for your room. The choices are somewhat limited, and the price is about what most of us would pay at home. It will be waiting for you when you get to your cabin. We also use Well Wishers to deliver beer.
