Has anyone stayed at a Fort Lauderdale hotel and left their car there for the week's cruise. What hotel and were you happy with that arrangement? Cruising Caribbean Princess in June. Thanks for any info. Bucky

Amerisuites. We stayed there last year. Free shuttle to and from the airport, free shuttle to the port, and free parking. Worked out great. You have to get a cab back to the hotel after the cruise tho. Car was fine.

We stayed at Amerisuites last May and left our car right out in front so it was under lights at night. It was just fine.
We caught the shuttle back to the hotel. We did not need to take a cab.

Meredith, We also had a shuttle last Oct. but when i was trying to book for this year, they no longer have a shuttle back to the hotel, only hotel to airport.

Sue - Exactly when this year is your cruise? We just got off the Golden this past Saturday, and they had the shuttle running from the port to the hotel as well as to the airport.

"Ohhh these moments we’re left with --
May you always remember
These moments are shared, by few
And those harbor lights, lord, they’re coming into view
We’ll bid our farewells much too soon
So drink it up, this one’s for you -
Honey, it’s been a lovely cruise."

Thanks for your input. Someone mentioned Springhill Suites to my daughter and she made reservations there. Any thoughts on this area. We know nothing about FL and just want the car in a safe place. Bucky

Just a tip-
Buy one of those sun screens that you put in the windsheild. It gets EXTREMELY hot in the car and that will help protect it, not to mention shave off a few degrees inside.
Don't park under any trees though because we can get some wild rainstorms down here and you don't need a big old tree toppling over onto your car.

Springhill Suites in Dania is another good choice for a parking-included hotel. They do shuttle to the port, but will have to taxi back. Several stores/restaurants right nearby, so convenient. Not really near the port, but nice property.
I can also recommend the LaQuinta Inn/Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport. Newer property, includes continental breakfast, dining options nearby, and they shuttle to the port as well.
The Amerisuites and LaQuinta are often available on Priceline/Hotwire, Springhill Suites is not.
