Has anyone experienced the very aft balcony cabins - I think they are Cat. BA on the Tahitian Princess? Can you share your thoughts about that space??? is the ship too small for the AFT and had too much motion to enjoy the AFT cabins??
I am thinking of booking one of these Balcony cabins on the Pacific Princess - but it seems this board is more familiar with the Tahitian - and since the shps are the same .....I'd appreciate anyone's opinion who has experienced this. I know there are Cat. OS back there - but that space must be so overwhelming - that it wouldn't matter where you were - even rowing the boat!! LOL!!! Thanks,

It depends what you like. I had all three aft cabins booked on the TP= OS for me and DH and kids in adjacent cabins. They do have a larger than normal balcony (deeper) But they are cut from the hull and do not have glass under the rail the way the other balconies do. As a result, one cant see out when sitting down. No view from the room. To me this also made the room feel a bit smaller (well it looks a bit smaller and darker). For some people the extra blaconey space is worth it. ITs really up to you and your preference. No right or wrong. There is more movement aft so if you hate movement and vibration this isnt the place to be. No soot .

Hi Renee,
Like Jaqueline, I've posted before about the aft cabins - and my experience was on Pacific Princess.
Whilst I initially thought the larger balcony was great - she is right - sit down and it's hard to 'see the sea'! We were on Deck 6 and were bothered by the vibrations of the engines and also the ship is shallow-hulled which may also have had something to do with the unusual movement.
We ended up moving up to mid-ships Deck 7 (luckily there was a cabin available). We also met others who were in the aft balcony cabins on Decks 7 and 8 who had no movement problems, so if you stay away from those 2 cabins aft Deck 6 next to the Owners Suites, you might be ok.
Enjoy your cruise....I'm off on the Tahitian Princess in 6 weeks (mid-ships http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

Robynp,
You lucky thing, only six weeks to go. I would love to do it all over again, it was the best holiday! We also were on Deck 7, a great position.
Have a great time if I don't speak to you before then.

Hi, Robyn,
I have 19 more weeks to go until 4 Sept. I'll sure be thinking of you on 6 June (my original booking) and looking at your ports on the cam. Kathy and Dennis fly back from TA on 27 April. They are having a ball and will bring me back valuable maps and hotel and car rental data. I always miss the posts of those sailing because they are having too much fun other places than on the internet. Have a great cruse! Cheers,

Did anyone stay on Deck 6 starboard aft (last few cabins)? Did you feel the motion back there ?

Princess Di- thanks for the bon voyage! Counting down the days now and looking forward to having dinner with Kathy & Dennis when they return. They will have stories to tell I am sure and lots of great information to pass on.
And once we are back - it won't be long until it is your turn! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
Ikyfrog - I don't recall anyone mentioning problems in those cabins - so hopefully you will be ok. With any luck, someone who has actually stayed in that area will answer your message. Have a great cruise!

You're very welcome, ROBYN. Have Kathy & Dennis also tell you about 7 March 2005 (Sapphire Princess, Sydney to Bangkok). We both booked insides. Come, sail with us. Kind Regards, Donna I.
