My first experience booking a HAL excursion on-line. It ain't easy!
First of all, I wanted turquoise, because, well, it seems that it's what everyone else wants. So I thought I booked it, however, I received an e-mail saying I was waitlisted. I called HAL and waited for what seemed like forever, and finally got through and was told I was, indeed, waitlisted. "So what other colors are available?" I asked. "All except for turquoise and blue." OK, now why are turquoise and blue mixed in with the other colors? Shouldn't the ones that are taken be put apart from the others?????
Anyway back to the website I go to first cancel my waitlisted turquoise and then to book another color. Which to pick. ORANGE is next to turqoise, so that's the color I picked. How is that color? I'll do a search soon. Hopefully, I won't have to change (or cancel when dh says "you don't even like the beach that much!").
From start to finish I think it took over two hours.
Is orange a good choice??
Is the HAL website hard to navigate, or is it me.

We had the orange cabana 1 1/2 years ago. It's in a nice location, not too far down the beach and we were pampered all day long by the bar stewards who were assigned to our cabana. It was a lovely day and I hope you enjoy it!!

Yes, orange is a good choice. You spent over two hours from start to finish. Even if it isn't a good choice, it's a good choice.

There are no 'good' or 'bad' cabanas. They are all the same and which one you might prefer depends on what location you would like. Some people want to be in the very first ones closest to the tenders, some want to be closer to the BBQ, and many others want to be further down where it is much less crowded and more private. They are all good; your preference should be on location, not color. If there are 2 ships at HMC it particularly can be very crowded at the near end of the beach. You can see that in the photos.
Many of them are very close together, so to worry that one is great and the one right next to it isn't, is silly.
When we first had a cabana everyone wanted the pink! LOL.

Orange is a wonderful choice!!! Enjoy... :)
I'm just glad we HAVE a cabana reserved...I would have taken any one of them and been pleased as punch.

I spent more than 2 hours on that "dastardly" HAL website trying to book our cabana as well. I'm surprised more folk aren't in here complaining about it.
I tried TourQ, Blue, orange and 2 other colors before I finally stopped getting "red" messages. I never even got to "waitlist" on those. Just couldn't get a confirmation.
I finally got a Green Cabana, complete with confirmation and return email! Did the Cabana Cha Cha!
Now, I need to regain my strength for the 2nd attempt to book jeeps in Aruba. My 1st try was 2 hours :)

If your DH says you don't even like the beach, then he hasn't seen you on HMC with a cabana!!!!
I'm not a person who can deal with lots of sun and usually a couple of hours on a beach is enough for me. We took the first tender to HMC and were one of the last to return to the ship!
Cabana is such a lovely, pampered way to spend a day. Lucky you. It will be worth all the trouble in booking it!:)

You will find that it was worth that 2 hours of work!

It is hard to imagine a better 'way to go to the beach' than to have a Cabana at one of the most beautiful beaches you can imagine.
For many people, their day at HMC is the highlight of their Caribbean cruise........even without a cabana.
Enjoy. :)

Thanks for the good reports on the cabanas.
Actually, the aggrevation of the booking process has started to fade in my memory and all that remains is the JOY of having a cabana!:D
(I guess it's like childbirth;) )
