Does anyone have a review of the Caribbean Princess fitness facility? I heard that this ship has a lot more treadmills. Is that accurate? And were there lines to use them?

I have been on the Star and Grand Princess and always thought that they needed a lot more treadmills!

Thanks!
Jamie

This was my first cruise, so I don't have anything to compare it to. But yes, they had a ton of treadmills. I used the gym on three days of my cruise, and it was never crowded. I think most people assume that there a lot better things to do than to exercise on vacation. All of the equipment was brand new and top of the line, which was quite nice compared to the crap I use at my local Bally's. Plus it was nice to not have to wait for anything. Besides the treadmills, there were some stair steppers, eliptical machines (2 types I think), bikes, dumbbells, and a bunch of circuit machines. They also had classes throughout the day, including yoga, pilates, and about 10 others during the week. I really loved using the brand-spanking new steam rooms and dry saunas after my workout. And here is the best tip of all. Since the shower in your room is so small that the comedians were making jokes about them, take your showers in the gyms locker rooms after hitting the sauna or steam room. They are about twice as big, the shower head is on a hose so it comes off the wall, and there is planty of great shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel on the wall. Oh, and if you are into walking, you can walk the entire distance around the ship on one of the promenade deck. Based on the specs, I’d guess it is somewhere around two-fifths of a mile in one lap. Have fun!

Jamie (spingal):

We're on 05/22 with you. We'll see you in the gym everyday. We are stairmaster climbers. We do an hour per day, everyday, even on ship. We usually lift too, but two days before we sail, I'm getting my AC joint (shoulder) shot up and am going to take a 10 day lifting hiatus to heal up the rips and tears. We usually hit the gym between 10:00 and 11:00ish. If you are in theere then, come on by and say hi!

This is us! (http://www.cruise-forums.com/gallery/view.php?id=1024)
