View Full Version : Blankets/throws in Suites in Alaska

One thing I thought was really neat about the suites on HAL is they had these small blankets (more like a throw really) so you could go out on the balcony and just enjoy yourself in case it got too chilly. (not that I've ever had a suite on HAL, but I did see them in a friend of mine's suite...not much help on a Southern Caribbean itinerary!)

By any chance does Princess do this? I realize I could just strip the bed and use that blanket, but I really prefer smallish blankets to just snuggle up in and read a book. If not, I am more than prepared to pack my Spongebob blankie LOL

This is something Princess offers all their passengers in Alaska. Typically they have a table set-up where you can pick-up the throws (they're nice steamer blankets). You have to sign as a security, just like when you get towels at a resort. I believe the throws were delivered to our stateroom in our suite last year, so we didn't have to go sign them out ourselves.

oh, that is awesome!

Just another reason Princess is a class act http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I (wrongly) assumed that would be a perk they'd only grant suite passengers, if at all.

Thanks for the info, Chris!

Awesome! I don't remember ever reading this "perk" but it sounds perfect. Thanks!

Yup, they have extra blankies in all of the rooms, usually they are shoved up in the upper part of the closet with the lifevests. (Even in warm weather cruises, I have always had them - the AC gets chilly!)

My favorite picture from last years Alaska cruise was my sister and I snuggled under our blankets while we cruised Tracy Arm, drinking the best hot chocolate ever! It reminds me of how cozy and fun that morning was!

There is a reason why I take all these pictures......

This is from the deck on the Coral Princess:

Those look just like the blankets on HAL...that's exactly what I was hoping for!

Thanks Coral! And keep taking those pics!
