View Full Version : Diamond Princess -Forward Balcony Cabins

April 27th, 2004, 01:10 PM
There was some controversy before Diamond Princess was delivered about the forward balconies. Apparently during the sea trials it was realized that the wind on these balconies prohibited spending any time on them and it was suggested that they were to be closed permanently.

Any information from you past Diamond passengers on this? It might be interesting to have one of those cabins if the balcony is usable...

We were on the 3/13 Diamond inaugural and met friends onboard that had one of those front balcony cabins. Yes, the sliding glass doors were locked. The couple kicked and screamed, so the doors were finally opened when the ship was in port. That said, it was the inaugural cruise and the couple had booked the cabin unaware that the balcony would be unusable. I have no idea what Princess does now that the word is out that those balconies can't be used.

I have cabin A200 a BC cat cabin and was told by a Princess rep that the only cabins with locked balcony doors are the BD, or was it the BB cat cabins. The important thing is I was told my cabin did not have locked balcony doors. We will see.
