I have my journal ready to post on our first cruise with HAL and first to Alaska -- our first cruise period! (well, unless you count a little 4 day I took with some gal friends in February).
I was not sure whether to post it here in the general forum or to post it somewhere else?? If so, where?
I submitted a shorter review to the correct area already to CC......but this is a much more detailed account of our week that I am inquiring about.
Thanks for the heads up!

Many of us post our reviews right here. We usually have to break it down into parts because you can only get so many letters, punctuation, etc. in before the system won't except anything more and you get no warning.

We're considering a HAL cruise to ALASKA for 2007 (for our 30th Anniversary). This year (Oct '06) we'll be sailing with HAL for the first time. I hope you figure out where to post your "journal"...I would love to read ALL OF IT! I have a tendency to be a bit "long-winded" in my own cruise memories...I posted a rather lengthy "serial novel" of our Norwegian Dawn cruise last year to the NCL message boards...Krazy Kruisers is right about posting your "journal" in segments...I had that problem with my "serial novel". Be careful you don't "lose" all that you have written when you post to these boards...the "copy" & "paste" method works great!

Well, since I'm a regular reader of the HAL board I'd suggest you post it on... (drumroll, please)
THE HAL BOARD! :D

Yes, post it in segments. The capacity of a post is, I think, 10k characters.
However, check the Reviews (http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/index.cfm) section of Cruise Critic as well.

Thanks for answering my inquiry - it IS lengthy.... I have a hard time editing out details....... I posted it on the HAL board (where I figured I was supposed to -- but wanted to be sure before I got flamed!)..... I was on the Volendam May 10-17 so you should be able to locate the journal - it is indeed more of a journal than a review.
I would be interested in YOUR journal Debjo - I will have to do a search to find it later this weekend. Thanks for your advice - I think I got it all posted.

For cruisingici...
Here's a "link" to my Tale from the DAWN: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=179815
After I posted it on the Cruise Critic Message Boards, it took me awhile to get all of my digital pictures embedded in the text...the "final product" once my printer was done printing it...a total of 163 pages! The Cruise Critic version is much shorter, as it doesn't contain all the pictures (there are links to take you to some on-line sites where I posted them though). So, if you don't want to get eye-strain, you might want print out a few pages at a time and read them in the comfort of your favorite chair!
I'm off now to find your "review" (aka journal) from your VOLENDAM experience...it will make for a good story before I hit the sack tonight! It will be nice to read someone else's lengthy cruise tale!
