Sorry for the duplicate post..had posting errors..I tried it again..looks like there's just a 5 minute delay to posting. (Edited so there aren't 3 I hate the Jones act posts at one time!)

Among others, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)allegedly is working to have that portion of the Passenger Services Act either amended or repealed.
She feels, & I agree, that it has outlived its usefullness, and is contrary to "our best interests"
Should it be repealed or amended, California ports would benefit, particularly San Francisco, her "home district".
(I've been caught up in that duplicate post problem also - sometimes it says "website not responding" but takes your post anyway.)
