I am really excited about using the Express check in service that Princess offers. I was about to fill out the immigration questions on the cruise personalizer and I saw the credit card information section. Would not providing credit card information now keep us from receiving express stickers on our cruise docs? It isn't a big deal for us - but I am filling out the forms for our family of 8 and didn't want to have to ask them for that info unless it was required. Thanks so much guys!

I would call my TA or Princess and ask. I filled in all the info in the personalizer except for the credit card data and the screen showed that the information was incomplete. This would prevent getting docs with express checkin.

Even tho we filled out all the info, we had to give them our card to swipe when we embarked, and it was a different card than the one we registered. (security breach at major retailer caused us to cancel card). No one noticed. So, you could use the same card # for all 8 people, then change it during embarkation.

You have to swipe your card at whatever desk you check in on embarkation. Don't feel you have to go to express check in. Often that line is longer than the others. Just go to the shortest line.

Another vote for not worrying about "express" Princess is very good at check in, most everyone moves along quickly and express lines aren't usually any faster.

Getting to the pier early is a good idea, even being near the ship is better than anything else short of being on her.

The answer is your specific question is that, yes, you have to give some credit card in the Personalizer to get "Express Check-In" sticker.

Second, "Express" is no big deal, as mentioned above. Since everyone has to give thier immigration info before cruising, most also give thier credit card. This means a majority of the folks are in "Express" and its not much of a benefit anymore. (If you HAVE an express sticker you can choose a regular check in line or an Express line.. whichever seems shorter to you).

Cheers!

Thanks so much for the answers! I wasn't planning on arriving to the pier until about 12:30 (boarding begins at 12:00). MIL uses a wheelchair, so I thought it would be easier to wait until the initial "rush" of passengers were gone. Good idea? Thanks again
