Review of Athens to istanbul

Has anyone returned from these ports and what did you think of the trip ??

We did the Istanbul to Athens cruise on the Insignia in October, 2005 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We particularly liked Istanbul (spent 5 days there precruise), Ephesus, Mykonos, Santorini and Dubrovnik. This was our third cruise with Oceania and we have a fourth cruise booked for this November, which tells you that we like this cruise line very much.

We're thinking about the Istanbul to Athens trip in 2007. October 24th would be a great date for us, but we're concerned about the weather. When in October did you travel and how was the weather? Was everything closed up by then (like the outdoor cafes)?

October/November is a great time to travel that area..nothing is closed..

Our cruise was Oct 6-18. The weather was warm, only a couple days with rain showers.
